  1. I kinda felt the same way at first. I have been bass fishing since I was probably 10 or 12 and was taught to use a baitcaster shortly after that, I just recently bought a spinning setup to try to get something going on those slow hot summer days in Florida. My advice is don't kick the spinning setup to the curb just yet. Go out on your home lake and that's the only setup I would use, I did this and I now know when I'm having a tough day on the water or in a tournament I feel like I have a good chance of putting fish in the boat.
  2. thanks man i sure will and flea bay dont even have these! lol
  3. checked with them but it will be april
  4. I need to know if anyone knows where i can get some of the new scatter raps made by rapala and i need them by march 25th if possible
  5. I know it may be old school but you can't rule out a French Fry worm
  6. do you think that the Dobyn's Savvy 766 Flip/punch rod would be a good choice for the money?
  7. I'm looking to buy a punching rod and plan on pitching between 1 1/2 to 2 oz. jigs. I just want something that performs very well and thats not so heavy that i dont wanna use.
  8. i bought a MGX lastyear and i enjoy the reel but there are things i dont like. First off i will ONLY buy abu garica revo's. It is a super smooth reel but for the money i was very diappointed to be honest and the major thing i hate is that max drag is only 12LBS. i would go with a revo premier to be honest, its a work horse!
  9. Was very impressed by mike siebert jigs and stocked up on them can't wait to get them
  10. I used a Gene Larew biffle bug. There kinda pricey but it worked
  11. The jig I was using was a strike green pumpkin and I think it had a little orange in it and it was a 1/2 oz. The combo I was was a ardent f700 flipping/pitching reel and a duckett micro magic 7ft heavy action rod with 25 lbs 100% flouracarbon.
  12. Well I've always wanted to learn how to fish jigs but haven't really had any convince in them and always stuck to make plastics or crankbaits but this morning i decided to go buy a couple football jigs and some plastics called "biffle bug" as a trailer. But to make a long story short I got there at 10am and the boat was loaded up around 2pm with a nice limit all around 2-3 pounds and one had a Florida wildlife tag for a $100 reward so its official my go to bait is a jig and I'm a jig junky!
  13. just ordered me a Hds10 gen2 LSS-2 structure scan but i'm thinking about ordering another to put upfront of the boat. what are my options or what do yall recommend? should i put the transducer on trolling motor or are there other options?
  14. Parabolic action? I'm lost. LOL
  15. I plan on using 1 1/2 oz. And the rod is heavy action.
  16. I plan on using 1 1/2 oz. And the rod is heavy action.
  17. Ok I might get a different rod made for 2 oz. Like you said. What exact rod do you recommend?
  18. My combo setup I just got for punchin is revo mgx 7.9/1 ratio with a 7' mirco magic duckett rod with 65 lbs power pro braid. Should this be a good setup? Thanks for the help!
  19. i have heard alot about this "punchin" technique. Is has caught my attention especially all the heavy cover in these florida lakes. Are the miller punchin weights the way to go? What kinda sucess have yall had? Thanks, Mike
  20. Just got back from Dothan, Al at Sportsmans Outfitters and went in there in my mind the only reel i was gonna get was the abu garcia revo mgx. i hope i made a good choice with this combo. the Duckett is a 7ft with micro magic technology.
  21. Me too. My plans are 2 humminbird 1198's and 360 imaging. Know its a lot of money but maybe I will have it by next summer.
