  5. We were fishing my club's monthly tournament when it happened. My boat was in the shop so Ed said he would fish with me and I could run his boat just like it was mine. The first sign of lighting we cranked up and started heading south to get out of the weather when it happened. Sunkboat on big o if you know the two guys that came over to help tell them THANK YOU. It's not an easy thing to see for someone who's never been in the field and it was even harder to do CPR on one of your best friends Please be safe on the water
  6. I know Toshie and the family appreciate everything what has been said on the forum. On Tuesday She read to me what fstr385 wrote and that's pretty much how it was. We were watching the weather North and west of us when we saw one strike we both put down our rods and said that's it we decided to head towards bear beach area where it looked like the weather had passed we cranked up and about Less than a minute later it happened. I think I remember seeing a flash and the next thing I remember Is seeing Ed lying between the seats. Buy that's all I want to say about this. I would like you to know what type of person Ed was his only concern that day was the we go find some bigger fish so I could win my club tournament. I could say a lot more but you guys will know what I mean I would like to thank the two guys who came over to help an called 911 I can't thank them enough Please be safe on the water
  7. I'm heading up to Kissmmee this coming weekend any info would be helpful.
  8. I went out Thursday and found one area that was holding fish I had a 4 and one 2 1/2 before one of the FLW boys sat down to fish the area stayed a little while and watched him fish then left. I tried to fish it Saturday and had waves rolling over the front of my boat I ended up with 5 lbs. Sunday was a different story with the wind mostly out of the east i went back to my area and caught just under 16 lbs and I was pretty happy with that
  9. I'll be on the lake friday and saturday I'll be in a red Triton with a 200 ETEC
  10. Gar tracker I've run that trail a few times fishindaddy contact me I'll be on the lake a few days this week North end and West side
  11. Bocabasser are you talking about going thru Moonshine
  12. I bought one in Okeechobee too and I don't keep my boat in the water it's quicker for me to trailer to the ramp. If your even thinking about Okeechobee then I think the north end is a better choice unless you don't mind having having no raunts to go to then look at Clewiston or have you even considered something on the St Johns
  13. We fished last Saturday caught 30 only 1 decent fish that was 5lbs most were about 1.5 lbs.We found 1 area that had most of the fish the other areas we fished we would pick up 1 or 2 .The fish scatter when the lake rises this fast but when you find them you can catch a bunch like JayD did. We fished the southend from Kramer to Rita and a little bit of the East wall
  14. Bass Rattlers meet the first Tuesday of the month and fish the following Saturday. We nfish out of Belle Glade this week
  15. Look me up on the the north end this retired FF will even take a retired cop fishing

  18. The boater was from Lake Placid not Miami sorry
  19. A boater from Miami was struck by lightning and died on the big o yesterday
  20. I fished it yesterday it's not real big 6500 acres it's lined with cypress trees and kissimmee grass our best 5 between 11-12 lbs.it took 14lbs to win the tournament that was on the lake yesterday I don't know if I'm going to fish the FF tournament on Wednesday
  21. I did a double take a few days ago on Lake Okeechobee I saw a sawtooth fish. I went home and looked it up on the computer just to make sure.I know they live in salt water but has anyone ever heard of them being in fresh water. And no I was not drinking or smoking anything funny I was in about 1-2 ft of water and the water was clear
  22. I agree with what gar-tracker said but if you want to come fish the BIG O just let me know I
  23. If you really want to come down here and fish Okeechobee I would be glad to take you and your son fishing for a few days if I know when
