Shimano Stella Ar 2500
Thank you sooo much for the info! My reel doesn't seem to stick out that much as far as I've noticed. I'm not to fond of the after market handle, but I don't have any other complaints. Thank you again for your insight, I very much appreciate it.

Shimano Stella Ar 2500
After doing some checking,I think my AR 2500 is what they called the FW2500S here in the US. But I could be wrong. Well whatever it is, I'm sure loving it, and I wish I had a few more Stella reels.

Shimano Stella Ar 2500
Oh I didn't know this reel was just sold in Japan. I don't have a clue what model it would match here either. But your right, I'm already loving how smooth this reel is. lol But since you seem to have other models, have you noticed one model being better than another? I mean because I can't imagine how they could improve the smooth feel of this reel. lol Or do you think the differences between the models are more application specific, and not major differences? Thank you so much for replying and helping me to learn more about stella reels.

Shimano Stella Ar 2500
I bought my stella used, though it is in very good condition with the original box and papers and a shallow spool. But I bought it from someone in japan, and so I can't read any of it. lol I paid $407.00 counting shipping. I haven't tried the stradic yet, but I did buy a pflueger patriarch to try, and I'm looking forward to it's arrival. It seemed like it might be a pretty nice reel too. A new stella is more than I can afford, that was why I bought an older model. lol Thank you sooo much for replying. I highly value hearing what worked so well for others. It gives a direction to look into for possible future buys.

Shimano Stella Ar 2500
Hey everybody, my stella reel arrived today! WooHoo! Wow what an awesome feeling spinning reel. I've never owned a stella reel before(witch is why I asked for opinions) and still don't know how it compares to other stella model or the diawa steez reels. I admit after getting my stella AR 2500 I can't imagine how anybody could improve on it very much. lol I'd still like to hear any opinions on this reel and other comparable reels you like. I firmly believe in keeping an open mind, though I admit I've been a Shimano fan for about thirty years. lol

Shimano Stella Ar 2500
Hey everyone. I just bought a used Stella AR 2500. Has anyone had a chance to use one, and what is your opinion about this model? The one I just bought has a shallow spool from another newer model and it has an after market handle also.

Bait Caster, Why Is The Handle The Opposite Of Spinning Reels?
I had the same problem, and just got lefty bait casters. I can't fish with a right hand retrieve reel without a risk of loosing the fish. Lol

If you pm the staff member who was online when it happened you might get a faster reply. That's what I'd do anyway. I hope it helps.

Dickering On A Used Boat
I believe you can dickor on a boat the same as a car. Also I believe used boats have a bigger markup . So they should have plenty of negotiating room. But I could be wrong.

Comparison
Oh I forgot to add that the higher the number the bigger the line capacity. So Calcutta TE 200 holds less of the same type of line than a Calcutta TE 300. I hope that helps.

Comparison
I have the Calcutta TE 401, Calcutta TE201 DC, and the Calais series A. I love them all. If was going after salmon I'd use my Calcutta TE 401. But if you can only use one for both salmon and bass, I think I would get a Calcutta TE 200 or 300. But I admit I love my Calais series A, and it should be able to handle a good big salmon I would think.

Letter For Partnership Critique
Your both way more experienced than I am, but I'll offer my two cents anyway in case it might help a little. The personal info being removed from on line does sound like a smart idea. But if I understand this right, then marketing yourself as a good advertising tool for a sponser seems smart to me. Also a willingness to do some show and tells for the sponser, in say stores and malls might also help. I think to a sponser it's all about the bottom line, and if you can convince them having you onboard will help increase that bottom line. Being famous would be great. But being willing to sign products and talk them up pointing out all the pros of their products would help too I would think. I hope my two cents worth helps. Though I am no expert and my opinion may only be worth two cents. Lol PS I would avoid the word partnership if I were you. It sounds too much like you think you are their equal instead of an employee. Just a thought.

Front Drag Or Rear Drag, What Do You Prefer?
I vote for front drag too. For the reasons already given.

Your Favorite Rod You Own?
I would have said my Gloomis gl2, but I just got a Denali Norwood and a couple of Cashion rods that might just give my Gloomis a run for the money. Lol So I guess I can't say just yet.
