Anyone Have Any Luck In Southern Nh Yet? (4/6/12)
My tourney experience on Winni (home lake where my boat stays in the water all summer) is fish for largemouth. The smallies just are not what they used to be on Winni. All the tourneys Ive fished have had mostly largemouth taking the leader board. The water is still cold up there so it might be difficult to locate consistant fish. Keep working at it. Use natural colors (brown, green) and dont overlook anything. Fish all your spots thorough. Good luck.

I Am Looking For A Teacher Of Plastic Worms, lizards, craws And Jigs, Southern Nh
Just keep chuckin. Experiment with different colors, lengths of line under the hook, weight of the jig heads, fish it slow then fish it fast. Every body of water is different and the fish will react different to every bait in a different situation. Also start smaller with your bait. For example maybe throw a 4 inch senko instead of 5 to pick up some smaller fish to get your confidence up. Fishing is all about confidence. If you get really light line and an ultra light spinning road, then you can't go wrong single hooking any soft plastic. As I was always told, the less "jewelry" the better, and that seems to work for me unless you need the weight. Good luck and tight lines.

Anyone in the market for a new baitcast reel? I won two Abu Garcia Pro max reels in a tourney and I don't really need any more rods on my deck... I think face value on them is 80 bucks a piece, will sell for 50 a piece.

Didn't win. Some guy brought in an 8 pounder to the scales. Tough to keep up with that... Specially on winni

Thinking About Hitting Winni Saturday...
Lees is your best bet for avoiding the traffic. Get out early also. Winter harbor gets really busy during the late morning with tubers, skiers, etc. The pleasure boaters (myself included on non fishing days) will be out enjoying the water as early as possible. Weekends are short!!! Smallies are still deep and I've been catching all my largemouth in 10-15 feet also. Thats not to say there aren't fish shallow, but I love fishing deep water and always fish my strengths. Plus the fish are better quality. Good luck

Newfound Lake Bristol, Nh (From Shore)
You don't want to be casting any shallower than 15 feet this time of year. Ideally you'd wanna be more in the 20-25 range or deeper. I don't know how deep the water is where the dock is but definitely stay deep. With the recent heat the smallies are loving the deep water. (On winni at least)

12' is a little shallow right now on Winni at least. Thats not to say you can't get them at that depth cus fish do swim but I just got back in for the night and I found most fish in the 15-20 foot range. Started at about 630. Prob had 18 bites but something was off with me today and only got 8 decent fish in the boat. Nothing to write home about. I was deep crankin and throwing a grub with stand up jig head. How'd you guys end up doing in that tourney?

Not fishing any tourneys this weekend, but look for my boat. Blue and white 18 foot skeeter with a 6'4 guy on the front relaxing with a bud light and a fishing pole. Stress free weekend

Not newfound but fished winni all weekend. Fish are for the most part off the beds but still cruising shallow. Saw very few still on beds that I left alone to finish up the spawn. They are absolutely electric right now. (smallies) Hope that helps a little. Sorry its not Newfound exactly but they are similar bodies of water. I am in the meredith area so similar climate, weather, etc. Hope this helps a little. Good luck with the tourney hope others can chime in and help more than me.

Southern Nh New To Bass Fishing! Help!
You'll learn quick once you start developing patterns on certain bodies of water. I'm 21 but my experience with some tournaments on Winni shows how age does not matter sometimes. Been fishing since I was two, owned my own bass boat (18 foot skeeter) since I was 17. You'll catch the fever once you start pulling them in.

Southern Nh New To Bass Fishing! Help!
Start with any natural colors. I know people like the blue a lot but for me its always green, brown, green-pumpkin (personal fav) maybe occasional purple. Always like a little red spec in my soft plastics. As for cranks I like the same deal, anything natural. My favorite cranks are ones that resemble sunfish. I may be wrong on some lakes as my boat stays on my dock in Winni all summer but thats just my 2.0. If you go online you can look for ponds that don't allow gas motors if you want to avoid the traffic. If they do allow motors/jetskis/watersports then get out early and beat the rush. You'll have a blast either way. Good Luck

I have a place in Meredith on the Center Harbor side by water so I usually fish that area. However, the lake is a bit warmer in the northern section so while the boat was still on the trailer before it gets launched for the summer I decided to trailer up to that area and fish out of lees mills. 9 smallies and 2 largemouth in about 3 hours. Got off to a slow start but it picked up after the first hour. Got the girlfriend onto her first smallie ever and what do you know it was the biggest of the day at 3.4 pounds.
