  1. Just keep tryin its there somewhere every lake has a giant no matter what.
  2. I feel like KVD whenever I do that, haha.
  3. Nightcrawlers on a #6 size hook about 8 inches under a small bobber. Make sure the hooks are for panfish, also.
  4. Anyone ever tried this frog out, particularly in the "bullfrog" color pattern? I just ordered one off of Basspro.com for $5.49. Is this worth the money?
  5. I'm going to throw some bread in today, I'm going fishing there in just a little while when it cools off. I'll be sure to let yall know what I can find out!! Also, if it helps, there used to be alot of algea, I mean, 7/8th of the pond's surfaces was just algea, and the next day I went there, less that 1/3 was algea...
  6. idk if it is a turtle i mean theres some in there and a snapper but it just looks like whatever is making the bubbles, wake, and swirl is fast swimming
  7. Hello, I fish in a very small pond that's about 3.5 foot deep at the most, and I know there are alot of bass and brim in it, but I think there may be some carps as well. The reason I say this is, sometimes, I will see a very big bubble line about 4 inches wide and anywhere from 1.5 to 3 foot long, then a wake, followed by a big swirl. I also hear a pop/slurpish sort of noise and see a ripple like a fish feeding. I haven't seen a carp in here before, as the water is somewhat dirty, but that doesn't mean they're not there. Could it just be a big bass speeding away to eat a fish, or a carp being spooked? Please let me know! Thanks
  8. wasn't in fs or drag going out the line was just jumping
  9. from start of june to mid september and about 1 hour before sundown
  10. break out that old topwater tackle when mr sun rises
  11. ***the rod that went out was the bass rod i talked about, the brim rod wasn't in the water yet***
  12. Hello guys, and gals..I was fishing today and I had two rods, one for brim and one bass. I set my bass rod down after i threw it in the water with a bullet weight and 11 inch worm, and rigged up my brim rod. All of a sudden, after about 2 minutes of just sitting on the bottom of the pond, please note the lure was NOT in motion whatso ever, and the line just started going out, like a catfish would pull. I set the hook, but nothing was on it, and then after about 2 jerks, i saw a big bass slam it. I got it in..weighed 5 pounds and came in at an impressive 19.5 inches. But was the line shooting out a bass, or a catfish? I have never seen this happen before so just wondering. Thanks
  13. @MichBassMan, I don't use a spinning reel on my casting rod, I have a baitcaster on that and that is what I keep missing hits is with.
  14. Hello there fellow bass anglers. I have been saving up some of my money so I can buy a new rod at my town's Walmart, and I was wondering if the length of the rod could affect the number of good hooksets, or the number of fish hooked in general. The reel I have is a Bass Pro Shops Mega-cast (Spinning), and I've had it for 2 years, and use 12lbs mono-filament line on it. I'm thinking about getting a Shakespeare Ugly Stik, 7'0" medium action spinning rod. I'm only 5'5 but I'm not sure that that matters or not. I keep loosing fish due to late hook sets with my Daiwa Millionaire Classic casting rod, which is 6'0" in length. That too is a medium action rod. Will this longer, newer rod help me to hook more fish, or is it a matter of improving my reaction time? If possible, respond as soon as you can because I'm buying it either tomorrow night or Friday. Thanks.
