  1. Ooops......yes....DAM....not the other variation! We were throwing 1/16 oz rooster tail spinners....white body and silver blade, for whatever reason I always catch fish on this lure in this lake. My son uses my old zebco micro....until which time I buy him a something bit more advanced......but the kid catches fish on it! I use (when I am not taking fish off of his lure!) a abu cardinal 400Ui combo. May not be the "best" but it's smooth and will handle what I go after......when I am serious about fishing I wade my local streams. Full of 3# plus smallies and 2# plus rainbows! I love me some ultralight action!
  2. I am fortunate to live in a private subdivision on a 100 acre lake. It does have quite a few 6# plus bass....but that is a different story! Took one of the kiddos down to our spot on the d**n. We were there about an hour and a half and he caught 14 fish! Most were edible size bluegills....but we threw them back and a few small striper. No they weren't trophies in anyone's book....but it sure was a trophy case full on memories!
  3. Good looking little fellow and I bet it was a good time had by all! I just introduced my 8 year old to "real" fishing this week....have been twice this week already! Daughter joined us today....it was a great day to be a dad!
  4. I have always had great luck with an inline spinner....white body and silver blade....especially in lakes and ponds. I am an ultralight kind of guy so I throw 1/16th oz... When wading, my go to is always the ultralight crickhopper in yellow.
  5. Getting back into bass fishing after a long hiatus. I LOVE ultralight fishing while wading.....I did a lot of it in college and in high school....and until recently I had forgot how much fun it is to catch a 5# smallie on a minicrank and 4# test! I know of 3 good streams within 30 miles of my house and I live on a 100 acre lake. The lake has decent large mouth and crappie action, but smallies are BY FAR my favorites! I also have introduced my kids to fishing, they are 6 and 8 and just love seeing them having fun.
