  1. hey all, glad to see the thread still going. need to catch up on the many many posts in the past couple months. been busy out fishing so i'll try to catch up and keep up. PondKiller is doing well. LOVING the new HB Fish/GPS system. My wife called me a redneck for working on a pond boat and I said I KNOW RIGHT!!!!!! So far had it out on a couple local runs. Will test it out this weekend. Picked up an bigger deep cycle batt to run the HB/GPS/Sonar etc. Still running the TM off the back and seems to work for me.
  2. Ok, not sure about any of you down south, but i'm getting SICK of winter. Today is April 5th and it is SNOWING IN MINNESOTA!!! I'm desperate to get out and get the raider in the water and try out my mods from this winter. I may have to find a way to fit some type of icebreaker on the front if the ice doesn't melt soon.
  3. I used a 3M adhesive and screws into the base. you might want to put a metal plate down first if you have concerns with stability.
  4. I found several clips that you find when you look at kayaks and mods you find for these types of boats. i settled on pressure clips that allow you to store the oars without worrying about breaking off the clips. I will look around but i think i have a picture i can share of the set I used.
  5. I hear you. Love this post too. Up here in the north lands i'll work on my ice house mods in the summer and enjoy the mod on my pelican from this winter. starting to get the itch to see how my new system works out. For now I'll keep drilling holes in the ice.
  6. Found this one today at Gander Mountain. Will add to the boat and try it in the Spring. Thanks Jaaron!
  7. I watch Kayak Fishing on WFN all the time to pick up ideas for my bass boat. Similar needs. Small space, need to be clever with storage.
  8. working out well. i'm actually ok with the motor in back as i'm usually anchoring up wind if needed otherwise trolling. love alot of the stuff you add.
  9. hey minnow, i did have a few mods, took a few of your ideas and put them towards my boat. thanks again. Did the same. once the fall turned cold i really ramped up the changes. If you have any feedback on the mods i put forth, please let me know. Thanks!
  10. Here are new pix. Expect a few posts due to file size limit.
  11. Was wondering if the pictures are simply to small. Tried to live by the 150k limit. Again thanks for the ideas.
  12. First, thank you to every guy that has posted to this site. I think I've read/re-read several points that you have brought up - I get teary eye'd just thinking about it. Also, i give 100% of the credit to all of you for your ideas that i used when I put the mods into action. I've been working on this on and off for 6 months, but finally got it in action once the cold hit (think Minnesota). To date I've added (due to this blog) the following: paddle and retractable net holders on outsite left & right (all holes filled with waterproof loctite); found the holders at Gander Mountain and used for kayaks; Rod holders on the back (scotty's) Sonar holder (off front via PVC) GPS off front (had spare set from prior fishing boat...thought why not) Ram gimble holder/mid right for Nav (humminbird..pull from crestliner) All power connections are now the quick remove type Added light mounts front and back for night fishing Added the anchor pulley system and then added big eyelet and cleat to floor to keep rope out of way New floor added with outdoor carpet 1/4 inch water proof plywood. 2 beer holders Eyelets to strap down the bungees (love the idea) and use the outside edge to secure Battery tray (had to split) and placed battery in quick remove/quick charge case Let the boy add the name to both sides added extension to trolling motor Have yet to add bigfoot trolling motor pedal and rod holders on both sides of my chair. Again, all ideas were yours and I must say this is the only blog I have ever read and likely will ever read again. Not sure about your girlfriends/wives - pretty sure the wife thinks i'm nuts. Please give feedback or share ideas on things i could improve.
