  1. I'm thinking of sealing the top/bottom together with silicone adhesive.
  2. Thanks Zach...no glue or sealer right?
  3. Anyone take a bass raider apart? I'm looking to split the top & bottom to lean it out and run wiring inside...Then I want to seal it up. I'm getting some leakage through the seam.
  4. Anyone else having a problem with the rear transom flexing? I am using an old (early 80's) 4HP Evenrude that runs like a champ. The problem I'm having is if I try to open it up full throttle, the transom bends and the prop ends up under the boat and not straight down. I didn't think 4HP would be too much for this boat but it looks like I may be too loaded up? I'm about 240 and my daughter is about 150...happens even when I'm alone. I took my trolling motor & battery off the front and its no different. Any ideas to strengthen it? Other than this, my daughter & I love the boat and have a great time with it.
  5. BTW, I have a bench made like **** to control my Johnson 4hp gas motor...the stock seats are way too high.
  6. Seating is easy... 2x10's 1x2's and some 1/2 round trim...you can make benches that fit right into the factory groove. You can then mount a swivel seat to it from Walmart in the boat section...2 seats MAY cost you $50...tops... The boat does look a little weathered though. I'd offer him $150...take it or leave it.
  7. OK I finally saw my transom flex...I know someone mentioned it earlier. I have a 4HP Johnson on the back and at full throttle the prop is under the boat! I'll have to dial it back a bit until I figure out how to reinforce that!
  8. I have no trouble with similar gear you mentioned. One Marine battery, a 4hp Johnson motor, Fish Saver in a cooler connected to a motorcycle battery too...
  9. Do you have a stainless plate over the transom? Mine came with one on the front too. With my 4HP, it doesn't flex...
  10. a 3.5hp is hardly a "speed boat" motor...lol.
  11. I have no probs with a 4hp Johnson Seahorse...?
  12. may I suggest pulling that trolling motor up at least to the bottom of the boat when trailering. Dragging it will SUCK...
  13. I'm a motorcycle mechanic...I just didn't have a lot of extra time to play with it. Dropped it off @ the marina...let them play with it. Thanks for the help guys...I still think there's a spun bearing or something in the gear box.
  14. MA doesn't need a title either...Bought mine in NH...no title. Just reg & Bill of sale...
  15. Drained gear oil...with nothing still hard to turn prop. Was not milky...Replaced it anyway. In Neutral, the motor revs HIGH...that lower end must be putting a huge load on the motor. Not sure what to do next?
