  1. Whoever said that standing on a mound pitching a baseball is the same as standing there casting a line is completely wrong - I've never had to ice my shoulder after a long day of fishing! I think the only thing "athletic" about fishing comes in the form of dexterity. Being able to hit spots with your cast and keep your line from tangling are important things, but that's the only thing I can think of that makes anglers athletes. If we're going to call ourselves athletes, then I think we can also call clowns athletes because they can juggle. I'm still sort of new to the bass fishing world, but my advice to the OP is to go with someone who knows what they're doing and really try to learn from them. Having trouble fishing worms? slow it down - that was my problem. Cast it and let it sit there for a minute and just twitch it. It sounds boring but it's worked for me.
