  1. Fish the dropshot rig enough and you will breakoff some weights. Don't give up. When you do hang, try snapping the line to free the rig. Gamakatsu makes a dropshot hook with a weed guard.
  2. My best friend and fishing buddy has been with me for over 47 years. The reason it has been that long is she is always ready to explain, "Remember the wedding vows - till death do us part? One of us isn't getting out of this alive." I may not be the sharpest hook in the box, but I got a pretty good idea who she is talking about. If this is purgatory, I'll stay a while longer.
  3. There are a number of questions to consider. What type of rod (carbon blank, fiberglass), how long, what power and action, how far down the rod is the break. Generally anything you do will affect the sensitivity. Most often you best course is to cut the rod below the break and install a new tip. This prevents further cracking and can save a good rod. If you are unsure about the repair process, visit a good fishing store near you (take the rod with you) and often there is an experienced person to give you some ideas.
  4. Hi to all, just became a member, but have followed the site for some time. Great information here. Would enjoy hearing from other fishermen in Arizona to discuss all things fishing.
