the gen 3 revo s is tough to beat at its price.

shimano sahara is a nice spinning reel for about 80 bucks.

You made a great choice with the mgx.. its my favorite reel. the sheer weightlessness of it is awesome. but its still very powerful.. very versatile imo.. pretty dang hard to backlash as well. ive become a big fan of the IVCB

yeah i havent decided on a rod yet... still looking. any recommendations? i have a few abu veritas that i love but i might try somthing else.

KVD is a master of this. Watch some videos of him on youtube. The way he snaps his rod to clear weeds works almost every time and like previously stated can cause a reactions strike.

What do you guys think of these two reels?

i have the mojo dropshot rod 6'9" ML extra fast and i love it. i have it paired with a shimano sahara and 8 lb power pro. its a great rod for the money. nice and light and pretty sensitive. it works great for drop shot and also use it for shaky heads and it rocks! is it a legend extreme? no. but for the money its a good quality rod.

i have a couple 7 mh veritas and love them. super versatile. i can fish any technique with that rod. even cranks. put a 6.4 reel on there and youll be set. i personally like the 6.4 for all cranks because when i hook up with a fish i can keep up with a fish if it charges the boat. just my 2 cents.
