I tell ya what, I really like the Fenwick Elite Smallmouths! Light, sensitive, awesome looks and a great value! I don't have the 6'3" medium spinning...yet, but that will be my next buy for sure.
I have the 6'9" MXF and that rod is the amazing. Great backbone but still light enough to make the average stream smallie fun. It's not a typical medium though and a bit lighter in my opinion. Perfect for river soft plastics and light t-rigs. I also have the 6'3" MMF casting which I love for cranks and jerk baits. Perfect stream rod for that.
I've felt the 6'3" MF spinning at Cabela's and it felt really good. Light weight, not too whippy but not too strong as well. I'll use it as my all purpose rod for canoe fishing with light jigs, topwater, maybe a crank, pretty much whatever is working that day.
Hooligan, how do you like that rod and how's the power on hooksets? It feels a bit lighter than a typical medium in the store, which is what im looking for. Does that sound about right?
