Hello everyone, this is my first post on this fine forum. I've done some searching but I've not been able to find any results. Currently I have a Crucial CRC-C70M TC4 crankbait model and I absolutely LOVE it. It is absolutely perfect for fishing Flat-A, 4A bombers, #5 and #7 Shad Raps, and other similar sized baits like the Bandit 200/300, and Norman Middle N. So - moving forward I also want a light weight crankbait rod for fishing baits from DT10 through the Norman DD22 size. I rarely throw large deep crankbaits and I believe part of that is due to the tackle I've been using, It's just heavy, not sensitive, and simply not ergonomic. Looking back to Shimano I see that they offer crankbait rods with their TC4 construction in the Clarus, Compre, and Crucial lines. My question is about the TC4 itself. Are all the rods the same modulus or is TC4 just code for how they wrap the fibers / and construction process? Will the crankbait models of the Clarus still be IM-8 Graphite, the Compre IM-9, and the Crucial IM-10?
I've also noticed that some of the Cumara Reaction Strike rods have been discounted to a price point that is cheaper than the current Crucial rods. However, I have absolutely no experience with them so I'm hesitant to purchase without any recommendation or experience. I'm open to other options as well at similar price points. My local shop is encouraging me to buy the Dobyns 805 CBRM, but nearly $250 for a crankbait rod that I will use 1/4 as much as my current crucial is steep ESPECIALLY if the Clarus or Compre will serve me well.
What is everyone's opinion of the crankbait options for the Clarus, Compre, and Crucial?
Thanks!
