Help With Ri Sweet Beavers
I split them all the time. Not sure if it matters or not though. I do think they have more action split when the bait comes in contact with something hard. Seem to dance a little more? Tom

Strike King Rage Blade Riding High In The Water Column
Caught them good today on a 3/8oz. model. Was able to crawl it just under the surface in shallow cold water. Popped out the water when reeled too fast. Great bait for the right application. Tom

How Much Braid?
I always use backing when using braid. The way I do it is kind of a pain, but works good for making sure I have enough line for two or more reels. With a 150 or 300 yard spool, I measure out 75 yards of line. Rangefinder works good for this. I reel that on to the spool. Then tie on my backing and reel it on until full. Then I walk all the line off and reverse it. Can this way get two reels with a 150 yard spool or four with a 300 yard. Tom

Trokar Tube Hooks?
Knightiac, thanks. I was looking for a hook for smaller 3.5" tubes. I use 3/0 or 4/0 EWGs for 4'+ tubes. Might try a larger size TK-190 for those too. Tom

? About Senko
If I were limited to one color, it would be watermelon w/large black flake. Natural enough for clearer waters and dark enough for darker waters. Since I can and do use more colors, I like watermelon w/large black flake for water with a greenish tint. Green pumpkin for water with a brown tint. Black or black w/blue flake for dirty water. One color I have had zero luck on is white. Lack of shad in the waters I fish might be the reason? Tom

Fluoro Or Mono
I like straight braid when fishing around heavy weeds. I run a 3-4 foot fluoro leader in more open water. The braid can act as a strike indicator on light bights. Tom

Braid In Clear Water
The lakes I fish 90% time have a visibility of about 5'. HEAVY weeds. All my rods have braid on them. I tie direct for frogs and punching. Fluoro leader on everything else. Have gone leaderless in a pinch and still caught fish. But think a leader MIGHT make a difference. Tom

Help With A Frog Setup
I should add, I use either Power Pro or Suffix 832. Both in 50lb. Also through a Spro 60, 95% of the time. Tom

Help With A Frog Setup
I used a Mojo bass 7' MH "spinnerbait" rod paired with a Lew's BB1, all last year for frogs. Worked fine for for how I usually fish frogs, which is fishing shoreline cover with smaller patches of slop, over hanging limbs and brush. Works nice for somewhat shorter, pinpoint casting. I'd like a slightly heavier and longer rod for making longer bomb casts over flats and where I'm bring the hooked fish through slop, all the way back to the boat. I've used this rod for that, but I think a little more power and length would be nice. Tom
