One thing you have noticed..
Confidence and focus are your keys. If you tell your self you can't win you might as well stay home and sleep in. Having confidence in everything you do on the water will improve your performance. Also you need to focus on the fish and how you present the lure. Don't worry about the guy 2 boats down pulling out fish, focus on you and how you present the lure. Also if possible, prefish the lake. Being in High School in AZ and living so far from the lakes, it is hard trying to prefish. When I can find time, I rush to it. Knowing what the baitfish are doing and where the bass are help a lot. If you don't have time to prefish, just use your head and a map. Know what the bass and baitfish do when, and go to high percentage spots. I have to wing it most of my HS tournaments, but if you just know the fish it will help you. Last thing is have fun! Tournaments are just like any other time you fish. You are out in a boat, catching fish, simple as that. Just fish like you would normally do and have fun. Hope you do well in tournament fishing!

Where Can I Find The Big Bass At In The Fall?
They will be where ever the shad are. When I am looking for fall bass I turn straight to my map. I search for places with shallow water right next to deep water via drop offs, ledges etc. I specifically look for points close to deep water. Bass will not want to travel far to get meals in shallow water. Also look for creek channels nearby. The bass will be near them to travel to and from the spawn. When I find the spots, I then rely on my graphs. I search for structure on the shallow water. The structure will hold fish in shallow water. Then when I begin fishing I search for the bait, visually and on my graph. If you find the food you find the fish.

"fishing Slow"
Fish at different speeds Let the fish tell you what speed to fish <-- Probably the number one mistake by all anglers. I do have trouble fishing slow, I am a run and gun fisherman. I fish fast, its just my style but I have taught myself how to fish slow. It just takes patience. Trust me it is hard!

How To Locate Fish On A New Lake/pond
I agree with this right here! I always get a map, as many as I can possibly get and I look for the spawning areas first. I then look for deep water as close to the area as possible. I also look for nearby humps or other interesting structure. I then look at water temp and conditions, If it is 85 degree water temperature I am looking at the deep water next to drop offs, But if it is 65-70 I am fishing points and shallow water next to the drop offs, Next I use my depthfinder. I look at the key areas on my map and try to locate different structure and schools of shad. After I find the those I fish the area with a search bait, and hopefully I have found the fish! Tight Lines!

How Fast Do You Work An Area Pitching?
Quick question guys, When you are flippin/pitchin how fast do you work each individual area? Do you flip it and shake it three or four times and reel it back up and repeat? Or do you work it for a little bit and then move on?
