  1. I attached a pic of the tie downs on the back of my 2018 175TXW. I am not super thrilled that the bolts are moving a little already. They still seem very structurally sound. Only complaint on the new boat though! IMG_1376.jpg.HEIC
  2. Yeah I agree with Bluebasser86. Around JoCo, Shadow Glen/Cedar Creek and Lake Quivera, but you are talking high $$$ houses, but awesome lakes. I own property at a place by La Cygne called Tanglewood. Around $200 a year in dues and taxes but it is a nice clean lake that gets little to no pressure on the bass. Have to deal with some Jet Ski's but it is a nice lake.
  3. Thanks for the input guys. I think regardless starting with 1 is the way to go.
  4. I know this thread is a little old but didn’t necessarily want to start a new one. I have a new Bass Tracker 175txw that I am looking to put a talon on. Those of you with just the one talon, is it working good? Holding you in place in the wind or does the front of the boat drift?
  5. Pretty sure Agent means Shadow Glen/Cedar Creek, private. I have fished their a few times, nice water, very little pressure.
  6. Fished at the KSU Big Bass Tourney at Melvern this morning. Cold start with a stiff wind, high 40's, had to feel like 30's as I was under dressed, I know poor planning. Water temps were anywhere from 57 to 61, water was chocolate milk from an inch of rain last night. First period I weighed in one of the only LMB at 2.15 and barely missed $100 by about 2 oz's. Big bass was 3.1. Tough tough day, talking around we probably caught more or as much fish than anyone. We pounded rock transition banks any where off a creek from the bank back to about 20 feet, only thing we got bit or caught on were cranks, color really didn't matter the water was so milky, reds and blues probably the best. We boated 5, lost 3, only took that first LMB to the scales, all the rest were smallies. Great job by KSU, really fun tournament despite the conditions, about 40-50 entries. Despite growing up in KC, first time ever on Melvern. I will be back, great water, easy to get to, big fan.
  7. I totally agree, there is no way that thing could be 11.5, what a joke for the star to publish that article.
  8. I have a BassTender 11.3 which is very similar to the Pelican, and I have a hand controlled up front, but I am thinking about getting a big foot switch to power on and off for short bursts. Someone posted this link yesterday and I am thinking this is a great tool for a small lightweight boa to keep you on target without having to grab the handle http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001BAKM60/?tag=googhydr-20&hvadid=10893422407&hvpos=1t1&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=1057833650828416393&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=e&ref=pd_sl_8ck8w35y93_e
  9. Around 400?...quantum burner, mojo, lots of bps line, lots of titanium weights, xps tackle bag, and another couple 100 at cabelas today on boat stuff, new seat bases and posts. Starting to be a $$$ season and I haven't wet a line yet!
  10. Wow awesome fish, I think Dwight is right though about 2012 being a big year
  11. I kind of thought something might have happened, he was an older guy, and the place always smelled like he just put out a smoke in there. I found a place Wichita called *, ever heard of that?
  12. Alright KC guys I need some help. I used to go to this place called the fishing hole at 95th and Mission. Every year or two I would have the owner go through my reels. Well they went out of business, and I am looking for a place hopefully in JoCo that services reels. Couple shimano's, quantums, and a couple other random baitcasters. Anyone know of a good place? The guy at the fishing hole was great, and he serviced a reel for under $15.
  13. If it were me I would reverse these two set ups, meaning use the spinning for the wacky and shakeys and the baitcaster for the cranks. I can't stand using a spinning reel for any cranks unless they are very small cranks.
  14. I went on day 1 to get a Carbonlite about 11am, they were sold out and the dude at the reel counter helping me played dumb and said they weren't getting anymore. He didn't normally work at the counter you could tell that. I ended up getting the Quantum KVD PT 7:1, real nice out of the box, I think I will stick with it. Going to get a new rod this weekend to go with it.
  15. I just traded up my Pelican for a BassTender, got it at the end of the fall so only got to use it once last year but really liked it. As you can see it is on a trailer, which is great, because I was getting tired of pulling my pelican in and out of my truck. Got it, two trolling motors, and the aluminum trailer for 800, pretty good deal I thought, it is the 12.5 model.
  16. Revo- did you go to Liberal? Report?
  17. I really like Trophy Country. I need to get out there again. I was there this summer when it was 100 degrees, and the fishing was still good. I need to get out there before the fall is over. Still should have a few good weeks left.
  18. Slow roll a chrome and blue rattletrap
  19. I did the same thing with an old trolling motor and a scrap piece of old stiff plastic. I am not sure I made the actual rudder big enough. How big is your plastic rudder, mine is about 4 x 4, I think I need to make it bigger.
  20. I did go. I caught a real nice LM on a 6" Texas rigged senko up real shallow in some brush. It was a real nice place as it was my first time. I took my boy out there and he got a little antsy after an hour. We went to two different ponds, one was blanketed with a thick weed. I could tell it was fishy but my boy kept getting all mucked up so we left and went to another lake which i think was plover. It had a ton of lay downs around the shore. All in all I was really impressed with james a reed. I would love to spend a day out there just pond hopping to all the different places. I also wish i could take my bass buggy out there, although there is one of the larger lakes that has 4 boats for rent. I need to check into that.
  21. Are you interested in paying to fish. If you are go to Trophy Country between Macon and Moberly. You will not be disappointed. www.trophycountry.com.
  22. I think I am going to take my boy out to james a reed tomorrow. Looking forward to it. He is only 5 but loves fishing!
  23. Chino, where you been fishing? Have you been to James A Reed? If your a non boater I here it is a great spot to catch bass.
  24. My advice is to hang up the expensive hard baits and concentrate on plastics. Grubs, worms, senkos, craws, Texas rigged, weightless, pegged, and unpegged. The possibilities are almost endless. You will lose a lot less lures, and the bass are always biting plastics. Remember to go slow!
