  1. Being from South Alabama and fishing G'ville, To me was a decision of locals or semi-locals....THAT could seal the deal. Love the Gman and Chris Lane (which I met and chatted with after his win last year....before a shared Church service of all places), but the hyper locals...I just wasn't feeling it Maybe my gut will pay off? 1. Aaron Martens....needs a "W"bad 2. David Walker 3. Randall Tharp 4. Jordan Lee - War d**n Eagle! 5. Cody Carden Evers by 1oz after day 2....going to be interesting!
  2. Yeah probably so! The trap and crainkbaits were the ticket all during practice. I think the swim bait and shallow bite will win it
  3. Yeah probably so! The trap and crainkbaits were the ticket all during practice. I think the swim bait and shallow bite will win it
  4. Tharp, Walker & Carden holding strong for me....cmon Aaron!
  5. A lot of fishing left though! Check out Zona and Steve talk about the day, live here http://www.bassmaster.com/video/geico-bassmaster-classic-war-room
  6. Got 2 in the top 10 so far, the rest are running in the middle of the pack....come on A-Mart!
  7. Been a screen name of mine for years. Big Widespread Panic fan from lower Alabama...LApanic
  8. So here's my run-down for today's lethargic bass pond fishing...currently 54deg and overcast...front coming in tonight Suspending Jerkbait, I like a Lucky-e-strike RC-STX (Rick Clunn's version of the Megabass ITO Vision 110 but $15-20 cheaper) Also, sometimes I will add Suspendots to the front, sometime the back, of the belly or both to get the depth and suspension just right Red Lipless Crankbait, especially in a veg pond, ripped or yo-yo'd in deeper water.I like the Xcalibur XR50 or the Xcalibur one knocker, rayburn red. B&B creature bait with lower profile for fall fish. I like a 5/16oz - 1/2oz tungesten on a Gambler Cricket around shoreline vegetation 1/2oz White spinnerbait, silver willow on bottom, gold colorado up top. I like Terminator spinnerbaits with BPS, rubber stopper, trailer hooks...always! The SK Trailer hooks with the the heat shrink eyes cause a TON of missed short strikes and horrible bait tracking! Medium diving, flat sided crank bait. I like the Spro Little Jon MD in chartreuse/black this time of year with stained/muddy water from ice melt. Zoom Trick Worm on a Shaky Head. Personally like a spinning rod/reel 20# powerpro with 4' 12# flour leader....3/16oz to 1/4oz Owner Shaky Ultrahead, normally Grn Pumpkin (spiked tail), Black or Black/Grape SALT-FREE Trick work. 1/2oz B&B Football or Arkie head Jig. I like a Jewel Flop Top Football Jig, again with a Gabler cricket) Good Luck! The high is 60deg today in LA (lower Alabama) . Post front conditions with light/moderate showers tonight bringing the temp back down tomorrow, so, gonna give em a whack while I can, and thats what I'm about to start rigging up when i ever get done typing
  9. Who better to ask about BMF Fishing @ bassmasterfantasy.com then the BR Forum! Anyone playing this year or know when they usually open up registration, still saying starts Feb 1st?? I want to make a group for 8-12 fishing budz.
  10. seeing a pattern? lol
  11. Spro Frog Zoom U-Vibe speed worm, green pumpkin SK Sexy Dog KVD 1.5 5XD Sexy Shad Spro Mcstick 70 1/2oz Stanley casting jig, black n blue 3/4oz SK Tour Grade football jig, PB&J 3/8oz Black Lunker Lure buzz bait 1/4oz shaky head, zoom trick work No particular order except if I could only have one....give me my frog!
  12. Nice! just rubber stop the trailer hook like a normal trailer hook? Gonna throw one on a jerk bait and another one on a Bone Sexy Dawg or Spook Jr.
  13. Storm Chug Bug...deadly for bass AND Speckled Trout. I buy the saltwater baits with the silver or gold body and just change the hooks. I've had better luck with the "flash" colors, but have some success with the baby bass chug bug
  14. Of course my poppers and chug bugs come standard with feather trebles, but wanted to see what baits you all modify with feather trebles. I've put one on the back of one of my Cotton Cordell Crazy Shad prop baits and probably will add one to my CC Boy Howdy as well...maybe a SK Sexy Dawg?? Don't know, just thought the forum could give some good feedback!
  15. if you can master a frog hookset it the top or back of the mouth....I just "ski" them in and swing em in the boat. The hesitation on the blowup is KEY and now that I've got that down pat....I hook em in the meat 95% of the time
  16. Also, I use 65# power pro on a MH/H rod and a 7:3:1 reel WITH the drag locked down 95% of the time,...20# big game mono rarely if in open and clear water
  17. Anyone ever use "baby" frogs? Don't have any but know Academy brand does
