Engine won't start
Took the battery down to the farm and home last night after work and had them put it on their charger for an hour. Took it home and hooked it back up to the motor. Bumped the starter and got rapid spin. I will have to wait until I get it to the water to try it as I don't have a set of earmufs, but it sure sounded different.

Engine won't start
Have a 1980 electric start 35 horse Johnson Seahorse that won't start. I had the battery in the basement all winter and it showed a full charge just before I went to the water. Ran good when I put it to bed last Oct. When I try to start it all I get is a half hearted attemt to roll over. Only once did I get a high rev going but then it went back to the slow crank. Any ideas?

35 Johnson Seahorse
Hi, I've got a 1980 electric start 35 horse johnson. Sometimes when I turn the key to start it up, it hesitates for a second. It didn't used to do that. Everything I know about motors you could fit in a teacup, so i thought i would ask you folks if I have to have this checked out. It is intermittent now, and the motor starts, but it got my attention when it started this.

Trolling Motor Lock
Thought about this lock thing a lot yesterday (should have been working). We have a rack in our maintenance shop that we keep scrap metal on for odd jobs. I found a piece of 1 1/2"unistrut about 7" long. Took it home and it just slides over the handles of my trolling motor mounting screws. All I have to do is drill a hole on the center line of the piece from top to bottom and slide a bycicle lock down through the holes. You won't be able to slide it off from either direction and nobody can loosen the mounting screws. If it rattles when the boat is moving, I'll stuff a rag or a piece of foam plastic in there. I'm a genius.

Trolling Motor Lock
I've got a transom mount motor guide that I would like to lock down also. Can't find anything on their website about a bar lock. Anybody know where to get one?

Motor Guide trolling motor
I just ordered a Motor Guide trolling motor from Wal Mart's web site. It was advertized as a 34 lb thruster. Price was $114 with tax and shipping included. When I went to the Motor Guide web site I couldn't find a 34 lb thrust motor anywhere. They list a 36 lb thruster. Do you suppose that's what I bought? Do you think it will push my 14' john boat around the back waters? I live on the Mississippi river.
