  1. First of all, this site is amazing. I find myself reading all the time and never posting so I figured this would be as good a time as ever to start. My friends and family know me too well, and as a result, I received around $350 worth of bass pro giftcards for Christmas this year. My question to you all is this: Given the rods and reels I currently have, what would be the best use of that sum of money to really add to what I don't already have covered? I was thinking about a spinning setup for finesse techniques, but am open to suggestions for new technique specific setups that my overall fishing experience could benefit from. My current arsenal consists of: 1.) Revo sx 7.1:1 on 7' heavy action castaway rod - used for frogs 2.) Shimano Chronarch 200e7 on 7'6" st croix mojo bass - flipping/pitching 3.) Shimano Citica 200g6 on 7' medium st croix mojo bass - plastics and spinnerbaits 4.) BPS pro qualifier 6.4:1 on 6'9" medium heavy Abu Garcia Veritas - texas rigs/carolina 5.) Quantum Smoke 6.3:1 on 7' Skeet Reese Cranking rod - crankbaits (looking to get a lower gear ratio reel) I mainly fish small private lakes and ponds that are full of mostly stained/dirty water. I fish from the bank, my kayak, or my jon boat if the water is large enough. I am wondering if my money would be better spent on a fishfinder rather than another combo. Also, any suggestions for switching my current gear around for better combinations are welcome. I'm in no hurry to get whatever it is I end up getting so waiting for the bass pro spring sale is doable. I'd just like some opinions other than the research I have been doing on my own. Thanks.
  2. Also, here's some of our season highlights of pics from my iphone. Not great quality but all great fish. My biggest of the season, caught in February Her biggest of the season, caught in June Another nice one of hers And another hog A pretty good day And one of my youngest sister who typically outfishes me no matter how much more my equipment costs than her abu garcia pro max.
  3. I've been a member on here for a while, but I never decided to post until today. My name is Colby and my girlfriend and I fish almost daily. We are lucky enough to have a family owned fish factory a few miles from home, and I am lucky enough to have found a woman as addicted to fishing as I am. As you'll be able to tell from the photos, she is also a local photographer, so it only made sense for us to start documenting our fishing trips for others to see in beautiful high-definition. First off, a picture of the beautiful Louisiana fishery we frequent. A great spot to release some stress with the significant other after a stressful weekend for LSU fans and a long Monday. She started off the autumn assault on our green friends this afternoon with this respectable fish. Out long enough for a quick picture and then back in to visit his friends and be caught again. (p.s. ain't she pretty, fish ain't bad either) I followed her lead and pulled in this little guy. Thankfully for y'all, she was able to crop out my face to avoid scaring the viewers with my ugly mug. 2 casts later came the biggest fish of the day, but nowhere near the biggest fish these cow ponds hold. Here's my girl catching back up on the scoreboard with a hefty sac-a-lait. All in all, we both ended up with 4 a piece for the day. Didn't bother photographing the dinks, mainly because I couldn't pull her away from her rod and reel long enough for my photo shoot. Thanks for taking a look, lots more to come.
