How Do Freshwater Fish Get From Lake To Lake?
small fish can swim through small flows of water. if a fish is introduced to a watershed it will likely eventually find its way to most creeks, lakes, rivers, etc in the watershed

Have You Ever Got Your Gear Stolen?
this is known as an endorsement to your homeowner's policy. Your fishing stuff is covered for theft under your contents coverage of your regular homeowners policy but it is a good idea to have an endorsement to cover your fishing equipment if you own a lot. There is a reason your wife's wedding ring is endorsed. Its because your homeowner policy only covers theft of jewelry up to 1500 dollars usually. And note that it only covers "theft" of jewelry and will not cover any jewelry at all if it is just lost or "mysteriously disappears." Anyways back to fishing stuff. If you have an endorsement for your fishing stuff then it will cover more than just theft of your items. An endorsement could cover you if you drop your tackle box or that 500 dollar combo into the bottom of the lake and could also cover your rod if you break it by accident. Also you can choose a deductible that is specific to the endorsement. So your regular homeowners policy carries a 1000 dollar deductible but your endorsement for your fishing stuff can carry anywhere from 0 to whatever deductible you choose, depending on how much risk you want to retain. Check with your agent. either way it is a good idea to take photos or make a video of your stuff. It will make your life a lot easier come time to file that claim. This goes for fishing stuff and everything else you own. Take your phone and go through every room in your house, open your droors, etc. Then store the video somewhere other than your house in case of a total loss fire. If your home burns down your insurance company will ask you to make a list of everything you own...

Spotted Bass Or Largemouth?
the river that I fish here in Georgia has spotted, largemouth, and shoal bass. The fish in your picture is without a doubt a largemouth. The fish in my profile pic is a shoal bass

Drinking/littering On The Water...is It Ever Acceptable?
if I want to drink more beer ill usually go to the river with my canoe (trolling motor) instead of operating a gas powered boat on a larger body of water. At least then i'm not really putting anyone else in danger. and ill need to have someone else with me that agrees to be the designated driver. I would never litter and no one that I fish with would either so its never an issue.

Drinking/littering On The Water...is It Ever Acceptable?
Littering is just ignorance. especially in a river. I don't mind a couple of cold beers and maybe ill crack one occasionally on the way to the ramp but I wouldn't drink 40 ounces and drive, especially if I felt like I had to ask my passenger if it was ok.

Swivel Mount For Humminbird
I have been contemplating purchasing a 899ci hd si combo. I want to have a swivel mount that will give me lots of freedom of movement and allow it to face the front and rear of the boat. After I quick google shopping search I wasn't able to locate a mount as quickly as I thought. Anyone know where to get the best deal on a mount? I wont get it unless I can mount it how I want to and the price of the mount matters as I am on a budget. the best price on the unit I found is at http://www.thedigitaloasis.com/Humminbird-899ci-Hd-Si-Combo-Side-Imaging-Tm-Transducer_p_29059.html#.U8SE-15OXIV. Per the description it doesn't appear I will come with any type of mount much less the one I want. thanks in advance

River Fishing Or Lake?
I like fishing the rivers herevfor shoal and spotted bass. I like being out in nature and u don't have to fish so deep. I like to fish lakes as well though, just going out and chilling on the boat is nice sometimes

River Fishing Tips?
basically any water in georgia will have a good population of bass. You should find largemouth's and swannee bass in there. Ive never fished it but from the pictures ive seen it usually runs pretty clear so i would stick with natural colored lures but i wouldnt over think it. a few bags of your favorite plastics, a couple crank baits and your favorite top water lure should work fine.

Why Do Most Pro Fisherman Use Cable Driven Trolling Motors Over Electric?
i had a 500 dollar minn kota electric steer and sold it and went back to the cable. That thing is so loud when you turn it you spook everything for 3 square miles. the cable gives me more steal i think plus you use less battery because you arent using the battery every time you want to go from right to left. Plus it takes forever to go from turning left to turning right. its useless in the river with current when you need to make quick adjustments.

A Rant On Lawns, Lakes, And The Beauty We've Lost
Completely agree. I have a small yard and keep it cut but I keep the chemicals to a minimum and never water it. There is a pond that I can hit a 9 iron to that I can't fish because it belongs to the neighborhood next to mine. Every time I fish there some old lady threatens to call the police. They say it's a liability issue and are afraid if I get hurt I'll sue them

Bass Guys In The North Use Lighter Tackle. "yankee Sticks"?
I live in Georgia. I use baitcasters primarily unless the technique simply wont allow me to (very small lures, weightless plastics, etc). I use a baitcaster because I can get more casts in and I cant stand opening and closing the bail every time, and the gear ratios are lower on a spin reel so you have to wind it more to get the lure in. I would rather stay home than throw a crankbait all day on a spinning rod. Plus I am way more accurate with a baitcaster too. However I do use 6ft light action and ML action casting rods with a baitcast reel because it is more fun to catch fish on a lighter rod. I had a hard time finding these rods in my initial search.

How Big Is This Bass In The Pic A Friend Sent Me?
nice fish. Hard to tell the weight. I would say the smaller mouth and thinner lips would mean that is a younger bass (relative to other bass that size) and one that has eaten well.
