  1. There are ideal knots for certain lines, techniques, and conditions. I always use the ideal knot. This gives me confidence. I could see how getting good at tying one knot would give confidence. The "C" In Catching....is for confidence. A neat knot goes a long ways towards its strength. Spending hours to perfect a knot is a good plan. Many people DO NOT understand the importance of practicing their knots. Fluorocarbon will let you know if you are tying poor knots. I suggest you try some superglue to prevent slippage associated with poor knot construction. (this does not apply to your case since your knots are perfect) I
  2. The improved clinch knot can be tied fast. My grief with it is that its original version had to be "improved". If something needs to be improved, it usually means there was a fault in the original. The san-diego double jam is so much better IMHO. You can do the single jam or double jam.
