  1. Judging by the look on the guys face with the "New WR"...I think he actually is pooping his pants at that very moment!
  2. If your luck with spinners continues, I will make you an offer before you throw them in the lake!
  3. Hey Abel...I live in Chicago, but since the WR LMB hype and the fact that I just moved back to the area and I'm not working...If you are lonesome and looking to get on the water, I might catch a cheap flight out there to get the line wet. Anyways...congrats on the purchase & hopefully we will get some pics soon!
  4. Does anybody know where to find information on these motors. I just inherited an old 7.5 and I need to know gas mixtures and other info to get this thing running again. I see that several people are interested in them on eBay no matter what the condition. It sure seems like the compression is good and it might have a good shot at firing up. Thanks in advance. If anyone here is one of those people interested in these motors, PM me...I am not opposed to selling it either, just didn't want to throw it away.
  5. Is plastisol something that can only be purchased through a luremaking site, or can you buy it at certain stores as well.
  6. If either of you guys are interested, I have a Magellan Meridian that I bought when I started guiding canoeing trips with kids in the summer of '04. I was a little freaked out by the added pressure of being with kids so I thought I would play it safe. Anyways, it has been used about 5 times until I realized I didn't really need it. I also got the Cd Rom for the US with it, the PC cable, the manuals...everything. If either of you would be interested, do your homework on it and let me know. I paid somewhere in the ballpark of $300 for everything, but it is back in the box now. It is WAAS enabled so it is accurate within 3 meters. I got this to mark fishing spots. It has 16mb of internal memory which was why I bought it rather than the e-trex legend. Just thought I would throw it out there for you. BTW, I think there is a color version available now but it is quite a bit more expensive. I don't think I would have needed that? PM me if you want to throw out an offer, otherwise good luck in the search! I know it took me a long time to research and pull the trigger.
  7. Thanks guys...I think I have a good idea of where to start at least. I am guessing that it will take a little experimenting to get my first couple done right. It is a little tricky reading about this without seeing them. Earthworm...I have seen some of your stuff on here and I think it looks good. I will probably try these methods and see what I come up with. Thanks everyone!
  8. Maybe a stupid question but I am very new to this. I was about to pull the trigger on a whole variety of things from LC to get started. After looking at the Del site, I really started getting carried away. After clearing my head and realizing that I am not even sure how much I am going to enjoy this, I read more on here and found out I could use a microwave, pyrex measuring cups, popcorn salt, etc. to cut back on cost. So now I am reading all about people's opinions on plaster molds and I have some questions. I realize this is the cheapest method and produces a rather dull finish, but if sealed, is it still worth it to at least get some baits. Then my main questions are... 1) Do I just dip a soft plastic that I want to replicate in the plaster and thats it? How do I get it out? Do you need to cut it in half somehow? 2) Do I need to leave a hole at the top or bottom to pour future plastics in? 3) Do you do the same with the resins that you would with the plaster? I really appreciate anyone taking the time to answer these very amature questions for me! I just couldn't find any posts explaining the casting process.
  9. I just bought the KVD Proven Spinnerbait Tactics DVD and he claims that you need to personlize your spinners to get the max out of them. I am thinking about making them b/c it would just be cheaper that way in the long run. Sooo, my question is, how much should I expect to pay to get everything I need to start doing this. I have absolutely nothing yet. I dont know what diam. wire to use, is it better to buy the pre-formed wires or get everything to bend them myself and add the hook, etc. Any help is greatly appreciated since I know nothing but would enjoy getting into this.
  10. I have never made a single lure in my life and was wondering if there are any dvd's out there that are pretty good for beginners. I saw Cabelas has a series out but to get the whole set it's over $100. I really just want to know about soft plastics and spinnerbaits. Any help would be great. Thanks!
  11. This is awesome guys...I appreciate the help. It seems like the general consensus is that I am going to have to go out and spend the $15/ea on some LC lures. Thats okay though. The crankbaits are where I was having a lot of trouble too, because you open up a BPS master catalog and try to pick out some crankbaits, where do you even begin if you don't know what you are looking for. I really appreciate you taking the time and I will start shopping soon!
  12. OK...I am new to this site and I have been doing a lot of reading about lures and such and I am getting really confused. I am a pretty generic bass fisherman...I fish a lot of t-rigged worms, grubs, tubes, spinners, etc. year after year after year. I am really trying to break into some of the new stuff, or at least new to me, and thought if I got some top 10 lists from people, I could find some new favorites of my own. I realize everyone has their personal favs, but I am sure I will find some trends. Thanks in advance for anyone taking the time!!!
