Hello, folks. I was very happy to see such an active community of Bass Raider owners! I bought one yesterday for $250 from a local guy who only had his about a month. I suspect he got in a bind and needed some quick cash. Not gloating at others' expense, but I was happy for a good deal.
At any rate, he didn't have the seat frames. Apparently, he picked this up at G**** Mountain, and they discounted it because THEY had misplaced the frames. The seller used it for a month without the seats and then sold it to me.
I'm just curious about what would be the best option for replacing the frames without spending the $40 each on them. Any ideas about using wood? Maybe some 1x1 for the channels tacked to a 2x8 or 2x10 for the seat? Also, that would lower the center of gravity on the seats, making the passengers sit lower in the boat. Is that a good or bad thing?
Thanks for any ideas!
