  1. I use large worms in the hot summer months at the lakes I fish. I have some of the Zoom Ole Monsters in Black Emerald. They worked well in greener water and at night. I rig them on a 5/0 hook with anywhere from a 1/4-1/2oz tungsten weight.
  2. Had the boat out the past couple days, and i was very pleased. The boat rides great and fishes great also. Very happy with it.
  3. I like the Federale worm. Seem to work really well for me.
  4. I have Lowrance HDS 8 Gen2 on the console and on the bow. Structure scan on both units. I had really good luck with the HDS 7 i had on my last boat, so i stayed with Lowrance on this one.
  5. I use the shakey head alot. I most commonly use a 1/4oz Siebert Outdoors head paired with a 6" Roboworm or a Jackall 4.8 flickshake worm. My favorite rod for this rig is a G-Loomis Dropshot series spinning rod. 6'10". And i use Seaguar InvizX in 8#. Hope this helps you.
  6. I have owned a stratos, and the ride was really good. And it fished well. Also, you may want to consider a Phoenix 619 or 719. Really well built boats and you get a lot for your money.
  7. Mike is a very good friend of mine. As a matter of fact, i only live about a mile and a half from him. So, needless to say, I have a large selection of Siebert Outdoors products. I have jigs in all colors and sizes. spinnerbaits, plastics. I like to use his jig heads for fishig with chomper type baits alot in the spring. But my #1 favorite thing i get from him is Shakey heads. Espically the flat top football head. The shakey head is my go-to bait and i haven't found a head that is even close to his. I also get the privilage of testing some of the new designs and colors of his products before they hit the market. So you know he is constantly improving his product line with the things serious anglers demand.
  8. I'm gonna take it out sunday to try and put some break in hours on the motor. Probably wont even take a rod. Just want to get that motor broke in right.
  9. The Burnt Orange is a sweet color. I havent seen too many boats with orange on them, so i had to go with it.
  10. You will love the Fortrex. They are awesome motors.
  11. Im just waiting for the call from the dealer now. Will be any day.
  12. I personally like the Lowrance HDS. I have had lot of time to master my units, and i love them.
  13. yea, pics for sure. I will see what i can do for a video.
  14. Yea, im dying. After talking with the dealer, im hoping to have it by the end of next week. Fingers crossed.
  15. Anyone out there want to weigh in on this?? Just curious if it is worth the money.
  16. I had Progressive motorcycle insurance once. I was hit head on by truck which fled the scene. I was ok, and my progressive agent was amazing. She even came to the house to check on me several times until i was able to go back to work. I have nothing but good things to say about the incident, which is odd for an insurance claim.
  17. I will definatly post pics and updates after i pick it up. Also, i can't say enough about pleased i am with my Phoenix dealer, Eberlin Boat & Motor in Herman, MO. They helped me set this boat up exctly how i wanted. And the price was even better!
  18. Just shopping around for the best price/quailty insurance. I had SafeCo on my last boat, pretty good value. Never had a claim so i dont know about their service. What do you all have??
  19. 5 weeks ago I ordered myself my first ever brand spankin new boat. I have had a few used boats, but i took the plunge and ordered a new one. It's a 2014 Phoenix 721 PRO XP. I went with the 250 Mercury Pro XS, Fortrex trolling motor, and HDS 8 in the console and the bow. The wait is about to kill me though. I was promised to have it by the end of August, so I guess 8 weeks isn't bad for an ordered boat. OK, DEEP BREATH, just 3 more weeks, I can do it. HAHAHA
  20. Anyone ever been there??? Need some info..
  21. Anyone ever been there?? I have a club tournament there in september, looking for some info. Thanks, NP
  22. I have thrown baby brush hogs and beaver type baits on shakey heads and have had alot of success. I throw the shakey head quite frequently so that may be part of the success. But it does work quite well.
