I headed out on the Milwaukee river yesterday and i happened to get into them. They where hitting a white twister tail. They are not spawning in the river yet. I think we have about another couple of weeks before they start . Work a plastic bait real slow and you should pick some up.

I am about to head out to the river for the first time in a couple of years looking for my favorite fish (Smallmouth). I am looking for some advice on the best baits to use this time of year when the river is kinda running fast. I went to Gander Mountain this morning and they had this bait call the X-Rap. Is that worth buying or do you know better baits
