Oh I definitely will. It's going on an Orochi XX Flatside Special and will be my primary hardbaits rig. I can't wait to see how far that setup whips a 110!

Did you get the free yoga pants/hugs/frappuccino pro package?

Kayak Recommendation
Hull is plenty stable but it tracks horribly. It pivots when a gnat farts. If I wasn't planning to one day get the pedal/motor drive system I would have already sold it for a wildy.

I need a light finess spinning set up - 350 USD budget
Orochi XX Stinger Shot Shimano Sahara ALWAYS go big on the rod, as there's very little you can do to change it. Spinning reels are functionally all very similar so to me it doesn't make sense to go halfway with one. I'd go sick rod, ok spinning reel. You need feel for those presentaions!

Same. Shame we could never know it handles like a drunk bathtub without putting it on the water tho ?

Have you tried Smackdown yet? I went through SX1, FX2, 832 and PP... Tried Smackdown and will never go back. Thinner, smoother and quieter- you could upsize your # test and still keep the same diameter. I personally doubled down & dropped my frog rod down to #40 and picked up a massive increase in casting distance. Its pretty shocking how how different it is from any other braid I've tried. Just my .02, but man that is great line.

Rage bug vs pit boss
I like the rage bugs for a bigger presentation but if I'm sizing down a little the 3" pit bosses seem to really do well.

Is Jackson Kayak Asleep ??
You likely just andwered everyone's question without realizing it. It it costs money to be out front... A lot of it. Do you have any idea how much a molding setup costs? Even outsourcing production and simply paying for tooling, engineering and labor is likely in the hundreds of thousands for a new kayak line. Jackson came out swinging a few years ago with the Cuda and Big Rig. They had a lot of innovative features and were light years ahead of a lot of other options at the time.... but now it has been a few years, and while I'm positive they're working on new models it can be quite the wait if you're either a) putting major R&D into a revolutionary new product indicative of your last release strategy OR b) maximize returns from the old mold so your investors are pleased with their expenditure roi despite maybe taking a bit of a hit on sales volume after the rest of the world stood on their shoulders with their newest boats. Likely a combination of both factors along with others, but I wouldn't stress- the longer you wait the better the boat will be. Technology and generational designs make exponential improvements, so I think Jackson is likely closer than you think.... or going out of business ? Time will tell!

There was a sale? Dang, I just got a Perfect Pitch. If anybody is on the fence about an XX, get off of it and buy the rod. They are AMAZING.

Yeah I've fallen in love with the XX series bigtime. I got a FSS last season and loved it so much I started making moves to replace most of my stuff with them. So light, so powerful, so comfortable and such versatility in the blanks... To me they are just about perfect. Doesn't hurt that they're so d**n sexy either! It's hard for me to say a $300 rod is a great value but I definitely find them superior to many rods I've tried that cost even more. I feel like that will be a perfect frog/jig/spinner/C rig type combo and it will still work when I go down to the shoreline too.

Its hard to come up with reasons you *need* to upgrade from an Ito reel but I am a doer and there's always a way!

Not surprised at all! DC is the only way to fly. I wish it was a thing for every company! I'd punt a 3rd grader for a DC Zonda.

What rod would you recommend for jerkbaits?
Orochi xx jerkbait special or flat side special depending on the length you like..... Can't say enough good things about the versatility and action in those rods. They are just a joy to use in every way for me.
