  1. The 'Ol Tried & True. 68 Special in rainbow trout to call those big girls out of their deep holes
  2. That depends on so many things.... Are the pads/veg out? What is the water temp and sun exposure like?? If if I had to blindly pick one thing to bring (hate that) it would likely be some kind of TX rig worm. I'd give that worm up in a second tho if topwater is hot, pads are out and I have a fresh custom finesse frog to throw.... So it depends. Heavily.
  3. Looks like white back shad to me.
  4. Story of my life!
  5. Bassroid, gillroid, ayuroid and gillpop all look sick. Wish I lived in an area it really made sense to throw them!
  6. $1500 is a solid bet for a killer boat/paddle/pfd.
  7. I straight up rip the legs right off and put skirt legs on now. The bigger frogs (lunker frog and combat frog) I leave the legs on until a fish rips em off, but on the 1/4 oz frog they're GARBAGE and do more the prevent hookups than facilitate them.
  8. Came in to recommend All Days haha Now I just think you should drink focal bangers and fish alone. ???
  9. Decoy YS21bt's They're still out there too, btw
  10. I would wonder why people would bother making it up at all, but even if the fakest of the fake has a clickbaity-enough title it'll garner a few, and that gets them paid. It disgusts me how little people care about accuracy, and the propensity with which people willfully deceive others (and poorly at that) as a profession is staggering.
  11. Sometimes youve got got to go through hell to get to heaven, and in this case it's a prerequisite! Bundle up and you'll be fine!
  12. Dude. Just because you aren't trying to have a baby doesn't mean it isn't worth it to go through the motions ? Fishing is is better than not fishing. Always. Catching is even better but hey not every scratch ticket is a winner haha
  13. I've used the grass minnows and shads, both work well. Just make sure you set the hook like it's a frog and you're good. They get torn up pretty easy but just invest in some mend-it.
  14. Well it's important to remember that those aren't targeted at "us" aka "experienced enthusiast anglers", those are for someone who has never tried a c-rig to slap on and just use. If the presentation clicks with them they will figure out the shortcomings of the factory rig quickly enough. I wont buy it but I understand the concept of training wheels enough to recognize its application elsewhere.
  15. I'd keep the jon. That thing is MINT and while it may not go everywhere and do everything, it looks pretty perfect for what it is! No sense in trading it for someone else's problemfruit that's about to ripen. Save up, take your time figuring out exactly what you want and get exactly that. Maybe check out the grizzly metal crossover boats too, lots of guys running those and loving them!
  16. I like to use a half gallon of milk. That's a hair under 4lbs, and a reasonable thing most people have. Just tie your line end to the jug handle and start to lift GENTLY. I set it so I can't actually lift it but almost. Better safe than sorry! The only times I lock down my drag are with 40+ braid and 15+ cxx for cover/jigs. (Or for finesse frogging)
  17. They aren't lies, they're rationalizations. It's different because you had good intentions ??? For real though- drop shot, finesse jigging, tiny jerkbaits, finesse t-rigs, heck even float flies, slurpies tubes etc... Lots you can do with that even if a full size senko is a bit overweight- I bet those baby yum dingers would do nicely!
  18. "Just happened to have a CR721 lying around" "Just put the finesse custom on to try it out" "Just going to have to buy another reel for that other project" Bait monkey is like... ?????
  19. Throwing glides is so much fun for me that often I'll tie one on when it's dead out just to enjoy the retrieve a bit more.
  20. I've read less than stellar reviews. Seems like one of those baits that looks good in pictures and just doesn't translate into real life. I'd be looking at a gillroid/gillpop, gantarel, hudd gill or a mattlures etc depending on exactly what you're looking for.
  21. Firetiger. Makes 0 sense outside of a reaction strike, but it's everywhere.
