Water temps for glides?

Featured Replies

I got my first glide bait this year so I've been watching vids, reading etc. but I haven't heard much about water temps to throw them in. Are there any suggestions for temps that they work best in? Temps they really don't work in?

I went fishing last January water temp was 47*F. Three of us were fishing, I caught the only fish that day using a savage gear glide bait. It was a 5 lber.

About 50 is when I start to get confident in fishing them but the draw of that big bait will move fish even in really cold water. Just have to get a bait that nearly suspends and glides well at slow speeds.

Throwing glides is so much fun for me that often I'll tie one on when it's dead out just to enjoy the retrieve a bit more.
