Sorry , I guess I should have been more specific. I don't have a boat. And any species will do, preferably large or smallmouth bass.. I've looked at similar lists, but I was looking more for firsthand accounts. Those list all say they have fish, but then ppl say the fishing is terrible here or there. And there a bunch of places I've been told about that aren't mentioned in those list. So find myself back at square one constantly. Thanks ill try it out though.

I'm in Passaic county, I wouldn't mind taking an occasional trip to manasquan. But I'd also like to find a place to could go fish regularly.

That's good to hear. I was becoming a little worried that maybe baitcasters were only effective from boats. Or when you see the fish. Hopefully I start catching some fish soon. Again thank you everyone. You've been a lot of help

I've read that, but I haven't found to many if any applications for the baitcaster when your not on a boat. I'm still reading. The more informed I am the better I feel

Thanks for the response livetofish. I bought a Abu Garcia black max with a vengeance rod. I read mixed reviews on it but I also read it was a pretty good reel for the price. I don't really know the difference with finesse techniques and everything else though.

Hello everyone, I just got into fishing recently, and I bought a bait casting combo because I always wanted to learn to use one. Now my problem is that all the videos I've seen of ppl fishing off the bank are using spinning setups. Did I just screw up? Or can I fish successfully with a baitcast off rod from the bank?? Hi everyone I am Robert, I'm from New Jersey. I am new to this forum so I figure I'd introduce myself. I haven't fished in years, and decided to start back up now. I have a bait casting outfit that I really don't know how to use, with a crank bait attached to it that I think is too light. Considering I can only cast it 10 feet or so lol. I have no idea what in doing, but I love every minute I'm out there fishing. Nice to meet you all !!
