My daughter is turning 6 next week and thankfully through some good parenting or lots of luck she loves to go fishing. I was thinking of getting her a rod for her birthday so I can get rid of that cheap one piece combo that she has been using. Any suggestions? Is it too some to give her a spinning rod or should I just stick with a spincaster? Thanks, Erich

I just didn't have any opportunity to try anything other than a right hand without having to spend the cash on it. I am a man of few rods, one spinning, one bait casting, and one fly.

I was wondering why there was a difference between baitcasters having Rh retrieve and spinning reals Lh when I bought my baitcaster this past summer. My friends didn't have a good answer. It just seemed odd to me to switch hands. I did buy a Rh reel but still wonder if my next one will be a lefty. After reading these responses to the original question I still don't think I know the answer.

Hi new guy here from Cleveland Ohio. Have fished on and off all my life and now spend most of my fishing time baiting hooks on Dora rods for my girls. I am not the best fisherman in the world but I sure do enjoy relaxing with a line in the water. Erich

I just picked up a Pflueger President combo and was wondering if anyone knew anything about the rods that they spec with their combos. Thanks
