Hook Set While In A Canoe
Hey Guys, Recently I have been taking my canoe out and fishing local ponds. I have been getting plenty of bites, but I am struggling to get solid consistent hook sets. I believe it is because of the movement of the canoe, often being towards the bait! The canoe I am in has no motor, it is just me and a paddle. Any ideas to help with the hook set, or is this just something I have to deal with?

Catfish Caught On Inline-Spinners?
So recently i have had a problem, maybe. Im not sure if it counts as a problem. Anyways, I have been fishing a 1/4 ounce RoosterTail Inline-Spinner. In the past few weeks I have caught 5-6 catfish. I have caught some bas, but the catfish is what i am interested in. From my understanding, catfish are scavengers of sorts and work only very rarely attack a moving bait. I have been fishing the bait fairly fast, and am not sure why it seems to catch catfish. Also, this has not been in just one lake, but multiple local lakes. Anyways, Can some one explain this to me? Is it the color(all white)? Is it the time of year? Is this just some sort of weird coincidence? Thanks!

What's Worse, The Bait Monkey Or His Cousin, Gear Gorilla?
I fear the bait monkey. For whatever reason it seems far more affordable to buy ten $15 baits than it is to buy a $150 rod or reel.

Fish Identification
This guy sure was aggressive! He took on a worm longer than him! Just curious, does anyone know why the mouth is so much bigger? Is it some relative of another fish? Its just the only panfish I have seen with a mouth that large.

Fish Identification
Hey Guys, Was fishing a local lake and caught this little guy on a 5in GY Senko. Me and friend couldn't agree on whether it was a crappie, blue gill, and some kind of hybrid. The biggest confusion was just the size of the mouth. Even the larger Bluegill in this lake have mouths i can barely get my thumb in, but this mouth was MUCH larger than usual. Anyways, thanks for the help guys!

What Are The Bass Eating???
Hi I am relatively new to fishing. I am experienced as a bank fisherman however do not have access to a boat. I always hear that one of the best things to do is pick a bait/lure that best imitates what the bass are eating. I understand how to do this wether it be shad, craws, bluegill, etc. However I don't know how to find out what the bass are eating. Do bass eating patterns vary by lake? region? time of year? Thanks for reading.

Colors Of Brushogs?? Favorites??? Baby Or Super Bh's?
I have been using a Watermelon Green with Orange Flake. This pattern has worked on other baits in my lake before, but is not working for this. How should I fish one of these?

Neighborhood Pond = No Bass? Huh..
It sounds like it was never stocked. I don't know about where you live, but here in GA there are people who will stock it for free as long as it meets retirements to ensure it is healthy and the fish will survive.

Heddon Baby Torpedo
These are my main lure. Honestly, the best thing to do is play around with it. Make it look like a wounded bait fish. I have found that almost any technique can work. However, I highly recommend using the clear color. For whatever reason bass seem to really go crazy for it.
