Lexan works pretty good for a tail.

Top Water Rat
Great work, man! Looks identical to a Nezumma! But saved yourself $200+

Anybody Else Carve Swimbaits?
This is a rat wakebait that I just got done with. Didn't turn out too bad. Its about 7 inches long with a lexan lip. Has a great 'S' action. I call it the "Coastal sewer rat"

Hey guys! I just joined the site a little bit ago. It's a pretty awesome site. My name is Joe and I fish all over the state of Florida. I fish everything from freshwater to saltwater. But my preferred species is big Largemouth. My bait of choice is normally swimbaits. Always going after that monster fish. I also like to make my own baits. I make topwater rat baits carved out of wood. Hoping to spark some conversations with some people! Tight lines to everyone! Joe C

What Kind Of Wood Is Used To Make Wooden Baits????
I've had good turnouts with using pine and bass wood too! The pine tends to crack though if you don't pre-drill the holes. Ive made swimbaits and wakebaits out of them.
