  1. Kennesaw / woodstock area here , roughly 45 min away ....
  2. My break was my wife having us move 15 min further away that way I can't stop by the lake on the way home .
  3. From my experience stick to the major creeks on the lake . kellogg , stamp , etc . I have seen shad schooling in pods in the flats so my focus has been on jerkbaits , crankbaits etc . The water temp is still in the mid 70's so the lake is still active . As I am sure you know allatoona is mostly a spotted bass lake . Pick apart isolated cover , rip rap and anything that has current , such as creeks and river channels . I have even had some decent luck near little river . Dont forget now is the time for top water , buzz baits are starting to heat up , when the action dies down a little bit the drop shot bite will definitely take over . Hit me up sometime we will drown some worms sometime .
  4. If were talking georgia this is my home lake and back yard
  5. Its very hard to be brand specific . I am in the automotive industry my tool box is full of snap on , matco , mac tools. Every tool has a certain job as your fishing equipment should be . Certain brands offer higher quality products than others . For me I have been a zoom plastics guy since. I was knee high to a grass hopper . Within saying that yum , berkley and other brands are now taking up residence in my box for one reason they work . A good fisherman will have a variety of baits and equipment. Thats not to say you have to shell out big bucks , to offer for a greater chance of success . Hope that helps anyways.
  6. Beavers can be beneficial and the enemy . I have had awsome days with a dropshot in and around cover , however when they were out and swimming the fishing shut down immediately. For what i have read they dont eat fish , but they can cause serious devastation of property and moving water systems. If there is a small break in the dam allowing allowing water to flow , start there usually fish are very close.
  7. I have been experimenting with colors . Blue flash finesse worm been working alot here lately possilby due to something they have never seen.
  8. Well everyone beat me to it , but finesse. Use a dropshot with a long tag end probably 10 inches or more. Small baits zoom ifinesse worm, or 3 inch senko.
  9. Welcome dan , glad to have another north georgia fisherman.
  10. From my experience I have seen largemouth find cover or just sit out side of it . I personally have had my ultimate best luck with a white or white and chartreuse spinner bait in a Indiana blade setup fishing along or just inside cover , especially if there is a cut or something that stands out near the shore line . I use to fish with an older friend who would always say we don't like to get wet nor does a fish and it kinda sank in , so in that way that's what I do first .
  11. I have found large amounts of shad .However there are pods of super small or huge shad. Some of the shad reach six inches or more. On my lake stripers get healthy . I have seen blow ups but its hard to match the hatch. Am I waisting my time or should I pick apart isolated cover . The spots are crusing and I have had some luck but without a boat I am jumping around.
  12. I grew up watching bill dance , as im sure many of you have. Lately I have seen multiple episodes of him using crankbaits, but he is not using a crankbait specific rod. It would appear he is using a medium action rod . My question is why ? But even though he is on the quatum pro staff , why not atleast use the kvd tour rod. Just kind of weird coming from a legend .
  13. Well I Finally made the leap. I haved visited this site just about everyday for the past 3 years. My name is caleb and I am an avid fisherman .The weird thing is I kinda feel like I know some of you since I read your posts everyday , and have glenn on my youtube channel. Honestly I have no idea why it took so long to join but oh well.
