  1. It happens. They dont fight well. I caught a couple nice ones (a 6 and a 4) on one sinking bait and they came in like a propeller, both rotating around the bait in the center, lol.
  2. They are rainbow trout. Very dark, golden colored Rainbows, but just regular old bows. The spotting is a dead giveaway. Here is a brown from the same water, same day.
  3. LOVE IT! I played 1st and pitched all through my teenage years. I loved pulling the hidden ball trick.
  4. Coolest picture yet IMO. The colors are amazing. Thanks!
  5. That is,of course, if I am remembering correctly, lol.
  6. I just want to point out, before my side of the argument is tainted, that they never confirmed those to be bacteria. If I remember correctly, at some point, NASA declared that it was NOT bacterial fossils. Just saying.
  7. I have oft lamented the frequency of sports posts in the EE forum, and I shall continue to do so. HOWEVER, if you have an XBOX 360 and a LIVE Gold account, you gotta check out the ESPN program. Pretty cool. Live events, and TONS of catalogued stuff. No outdoor programming that I have seen though. Still pretty cool.
  8. Not only plenty of times, but infinite times.
  9. Just to make it perfectly clear, I DO NOT THINK THAT ALIENS VISIT US. I do, however, know that there is other life out there somewhere. No amount of pseudoscience or mysticism will sway me to think otherwise.
  10. there could be a single cell organism dividing himself across a puddle of goo, somehwere MILLIONS of lightyears away, and it is still alien life. Billions of galaxies, each containing billions of stars, and you think that from a mathematical standpoint we are "one in infinity"? That thought process is so far beyond reason that I dont know how to argue against it.
  11. Why not? Quoting is fun. It is efficient.
  12. I need someone on the east coast to buy it at midnight, come home, play it, and then let me know if it is worth driving down to best buy and picking up when it launches here 3 hours later ;D
  13. My money is on it sucking. We shall see.
  14. Oh man that is awesome. Bucca is a constant self promoter. Yoo hoo! 5lb spots. Whatever.
  15. You had 30 minutes to stop and take a good picture without shooting through the windshield. I think you been smoking something. My dad wouldn't pull over on I-95. Especially since it was dark. And it was to the west, drivers side, NOT passenger side. And reviewing all my footage (or lack there of to say) I didn't get the mystical disc, but I did happen to get some of two stationary lights right next to each other. I think it's called a plane. : I dont know about Ohio, But here in VA planes dont sit still? Oh. It was a video? my mistake, I thought it was a picture. I have seen some ufos before with my buddy. Three flaming balls just hovering above some counrty roads. I sure as hell believe in other life besides humans. Pure genius. ;D What's wrong with that? I guess I meant other advanced life forms, not humans. I think he meant that there is life "besides humans." Look all around you! Dogs cats etc. You didn't specify life as not being on earth. quote for giant quote's sake! ;D it is starting to get a little out of hand, isnt it?
  16. Oh man! Round 2! Someone with many degrees should be along shortly to tell us why aliens dont exist.
  17. 1. Catch a largemouth in the teens 2. Catch a muskie on one of the baits that I build. 3.Fish Alaska and get a Halibut over 100 and a King over 50 4. Get a Leopard Shark on the fly 5. Brown over 10lbs 6. Taimen on the fly 7. 100+ Tarpon 8. Wild Steelhead on the fly 9. Fly Fish New Zealand 10. Catch a smallmouth over 6.5 on a fly rod with 2lb tippet
  18. Yeah, but it keeps running out of batteries... ;D
  19. lol'd @ "higher elevations" Ive only had my sierra up to about 10K, but my old Everest down bag went with me up to almost 13k in Colorado. It just depends on how you sleep temperature wise. I can be in my thermal bottoms and nothing else, and be roasting in my 45, as my girl next to me is shivering in every stich of clothing and a 20 degree bag. A couple things that a lot of people dont realize with sleeping bags: Your sleeping pad plays almost as large a part in warmth as your bag does. Thermarests are ok, I am running an insulated Big Agnes air pad now. That thing is awesome. So comfortable, light, small packing, and toasty warm. Get one. Seriously. Secondly, using a heavy bag in warm weather can actually make you cold. After you fall asleep you get hot, sweat, and then the sweat cools you. You wake up cold, but it is because you got too hot. Once you get your bag all sweaty, you are basically screwed for the night. Best bet with a heavy bag in warm conditions is to fall asleep wearing little clothing and your bag zipped open. If you wake up cold, start zipping up and adding clothing. That sucks you are allergic to down. Despite all of our technology, I prefer wool clothing and down bags when I can. As my budget allows, I will be adding a new down bag to the fleet. They are just so much more comfortable, and they pack down amazingly small for their temperature rating. Sucks when they get wet tho... Thankfully that has not been a problem inside the Zephyr, and it has been through some pretty entertaining storms the last couple years.
  20. I shopped around for a LONG time until I pulled the trigger on an ALPS Mountaineering Zephyr 2 tent. It is awesome. I found mine on sale and it was worth every penny. I sleep hot and like a lighter pack so i run light sleeping bags and adjust clothing as needed. 90% of the time I am using my 45 degree Sierra Designs down bag. Once in awhile I will use my 30 degree Lafuma synthetic or my 20 degree ALPS synthetic. I have slept in a snowstorm at 9500 ft in my 45 degree bag with my warm clothes on and been perfectly comfortable. Sometimes I use a homemade alcohol stove, but most of the time I use my MSR pocket rocket. No frills, no nonsense, just pure functionality.
