Fluorocarbon Brand Preference
I fished Vanish for a good while and recently went to PLine's copolymer, flouroclear. It's about 10 bucks for a 300 yard spool and amazon and tackle warehouse have good bulk deals on it. It handles better than the vanish did, I was having cast issues with the 17lb vanish. They only thing I have it on now is twelve pound on my crankbait rod.

Bass Anglers In Arkansas
There's a ten horse limit on it but i've never seen the game warden enforce it. The only time I've ever said anything was when someone showed up with a ski boat on a day in the summer when I was gonna fish a hump dead in the center of the lake. Average motor size is about a forty but I've seen guys out there with big tritons and skeeters (the 200 to 250 powered ones) and theres a guy that fishes it nearly every weekend in an aluminum triton with a 115. Im there pretty much both days out of every weekend. The lakes easy to get to. You take the Bald Knob lake exit off 67 and turn away from town on it. Go through the four way and make the next left and it leads you straight to it. I'm there every weekend both days pretty much, so if your ever out there and see a little grey jon boat with a 9.9 and "lil laker" written on the side of it, holler at me and I'd be more than happy to show you all the hot spots I know.

Bass Anglers In Arkansas
I'm from Cabot and fish a lot of Bald Knob Lake in Bald Knob and every once in awhile I fish Conway and Barnett. I don't get to fish the bigger lakes (Greer's Ferry) as much as I would like to because I'm fishing out of a 14' jon boat with a 9.9. Till I get my RT188 ranger tax time. But I digress. I haven't seen anyone post anything on Bald Knob Lake- I don't think anyone knows it exists really except the locals from town and maybe Searcy.... its a great little lake...not sure on the actual acreage but it is literally a scaled down big lake. Its got one really deep side, several coves and a big creek that are really good in the fall, one dock that ALWAYS has fish on it, and a hump in the middle in deeper water that usually has fish on it in the summer. I've been fishing it since February and haven't really had any really bad days. So far as the fish most are pretty small, 1 to 2 pounds, but it has several 3-4 pounders and I shocked the heck out of myself and my fishing partner today when I pulled out a 5.8 on a squarebill. Plus if anyone is looking for a lake fairly established into a fall pattern its the place to go .

Abu Garcia
I have four different Veritas rods for different baits. I absolutely love mine, especially my veritas winch model 7 footer. It's an amazing crankbait rod. And Abu's customer service is second to none. I snapped one of mine by snagging it and then the dang wind pushed my boat over it before I could get to the trolling motor. Abu had a brand new one on my doorstep in two days. The sensitivity on them is great and they don't weigh hardly anything. However....so far as reels are concerned I would go with Lew's. I don't know what your budget is but I've got two of their 100 dollar speed spools and I love them. So much that I'm thinking of replacing my two 130 dollar Revo S's with them. I've been having some problems with the centrifugal brake in the Revo S reels. I haven't had a chance to send them to Abu yet. But like said I've had no problems out of my Veritas rods, I love them. I will say however they are a bit stiffer than other rods of the same power and speed. I fish a lot of heavy grass though so its all about your preferences.

Fall Bass Fishing???
Falls my favorite time to fish. Water temp starts cooling down, the bass start to get in a chase mood to feed up for the winter and I get to throw my favorite bait....a squarebill crankbait.

Is It Fall In Your Area Yet?
I am... water temp on my favorite lake dropped eight degrees down into the mid 70's after two days of torrential downpour. Absolutely destroyed them on squarebills today.
