It's just I used a heavy xf rod once and it felt ile a broom stick. I have been fishing a long time. serious for about 30 years. I have caught many 3 pounders on a medium moderate tip with no problems, I just don't want a hook and pull rod.

Does the xf tip make it feel stiffer?

I am looking to buy a new rod. I will be using it mainly for pitching and punching cover. Do you think I can do with a medium fast tip or will I need a med-heavy, I also plan to use it for a few other applications. Sometimes different med-heavy rods are very stiff. Any advice?

on every spinning rod I have ever seen they are jnter-changeable

Since most spools hold over 100 yards of even 15lb line I don't see how it could effect your casting, unless you cast over 150 ft

I find at my height being level with the water and all the trees that 7ft is a little long for me, on a boat its different

anyone that has or has had a Pflueger Patriarch Casting Reel - what is your opinion compared to an abu, lews or such?

I have a creek/canal in my backyard and I notice different water movement and wonder what it is and how it affects fishing. Sometimes it is completely calm and other times it has current in certain areas: current mainly toward the center and calm toward the shore but not dispersed equal Is this a channel, growth under water or what is it? Any help appreciated

Marty, Do you use a leader for deep water baits of drop shots?

i am always reading about only use 15lb mono on topwater, 6-8lb floro on drop shots, 50lb braid on frogs..... I only carry one pole. isn't ok to use braid as the main line and just change a 6ft leader to the situation? thanks for any help!!
