  1. I took the professional route too. I sent 6 baitcasters to DVT this winter. They all came back looking and feeling great. I can't wait to give them a try this spring.
  2. Last year was the first year that I've had both options. I have a Hobie Pro Angler kayak and I love fishing out of it. Since it came home, the canoe has not left the garage at my house. For me, the kayak has more storage and is more stable for standing as I can stand and fish for hours if needed. The integration of electronics as also a big plus for me as they needed to hang over the side of the canoe. I also have a pontoon boat that I will fish out of and the kayak wins there too. ;-)
  3. No hard budget as I'm not setting a limit. Just whatever it costs for a good replica. Thanks. I'll check them out too.
  4. Thanks Darren and to all for the kind words or likes. Yes, the price is expensive but I definitely want to have this one on my wall. This catch was the result of my first guided trip I took with my stepfather to celebrate his 70th birthday. So a 7-pounder to remember his 70th is worth it to me. Also, as you'll see below, this is a big step up for me from my previous PB and I'm not sure if I'll top it anytime soon (fishing eastern PA). Thanks, I've reached out to them. My previous PB was between 1.5 and 2lbs so this catch for me is huge. I primarily fish a private lake and the bass are plentiful but not very large. A 3lb fish there is extremely rare.
  5. I am very excited that I have a new PB. I finally moved over the 3LB mark and did so in a big way (at least for me). I boated this monster who weighed 7lb 4oz, length was 24", and girth was 15". I would like to get a replica made to mount as a memory. Any recommendation would be appreciated. Thanks, T-Rick
  6. I have a 2015 PA14 so the 14-foot model
  7. I love fishing out of my Hobie Pro Angler. My boat is a pontoon so I can't compare to fishing from a bass boat.
  8. I am yet another NRS Chinook owner. I've used it for one season and happy with the PDF.
  9. I use two rods for throwing GY 4-5" senkos. Both are St. Croix LTBs. - 6'8" MXF - 7'1" MF Both rods have a Shimano Chronarch 51E.
  10. Lowrance Elite 5x Chirp on my Hobie PA14.
  11. Why only two? Instead of trying to find 2 "all purpose" setups, why not focus on your rod management system? I normally take 4 combos with me in the yak and have taken as many as 6. I think I could do 12 if needed but I don't own that many :-)
  12. I have a 2015 PA 14 and love it. I am 6' 215lbs and the yak is very stable and I am very comfortable when I stand to fish. You have many good recommendations of other yaks to get some seat time.
  13. Since you asked for tips: First tip: don't fall in. Second tip: maybe add more detail about your location and body of water and you will get some replies.
  14. I really like my Hobie Pro Angler 14. This was my first season with it and I was able to stand very easy and never felt like I was going to flip.
  15. For me it is the A-Rig. I bought a combo for it specifically (Mojo Bass and BPS PQ) and never caught a fish. Guess I should try again this year.
  16. I use a trailer and pull it with my golf cart.
  17. A 32GB card did the job. Thanks!
  18. I have an Elite 5 Chirp if that makes a difference.
  19. Hello, Is there a special type of Micro SD card required for this unit? I recently purchased this one and it does not seem like the unit recognizes the card. The card will work on my PC. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B010Q588D4/ref=yo_ii_img Thanks.
  20. Yes, that store was crazy on Saturday. I traded in two rods and reels and I ended up buying St. croix LTB 7'1" MF spinning statica CI4+ New carbonlite 7'6" MHF PQ 7.1 Lowrance Elite 5 with GPS Plano 3600 tackle bag Some BPS plastics A few jigs
  21. I've seen this recommendation in a number of places and was looking for confirm how this was done. When one says "tape the spool", how exactly should you tape it and with what type of tape? I always assumed it was standard electrical tape and to put a single piece across the spool lengthwise. Is that correct? Thanks!
  22. If you have a copy, you could use Microsoft Visio. It would help keep things drawn to scale.
  23. I am glad I am not the only one. I was excited to use a A rig this past summer and never caught a fish. I need to catch one using it next season.
  24. Not sure if this is a different thread but I see many posts about braid digging into itself here. I had braid dig in on my baitcaster this weekend. Is there a way to "un-dig" the braid on a baitcaster? I've removed a few backlashes in my 1-year with a baitcaster but the dug in braid is proving very difficult. Is there a method to approach this issue or am I stuck cutting the line and re-spooling? Thanks.
