Spent all day there today following bait. Crank baits, traps, SJB on wood. Deep to 25 ft. Shallow on logs. Nothing. Very tough finding fish right now. Water temp is still 80 degrees. Fished next to bait, through bait.

He was catching all the fish before you. Throw something different but similar. Throw in spots he wasn't. If he's pitching, you pitch, but use a t rig when he's jigging. Change it up so you pick up the fish he didn't interest. Throw a different color.

With the dominant baitfish being shiners and alewives, I'm wondering if my tactics need to be altered as the fall seasonal patterns you always read about from the pros talk to chasing shad on fall creek migrations into shallows. I'm seeing bait suspended in deep water. Nothing in shallows. All in or close to channel.
