I would suggest going east just over the state line. Crazy Joe's off 171st and Holmes is great. It is the parking lot of Sneads BBQ. In Missouri you can get alot more than Kansas. If your just looking for some small stuff for the kids then there are a few good spots off 169 hwy in Spring Hill.

Water temp at Lacygne is 45-49 degrees depending where you are from the outlet. Last time out we boated 2 LM a handful of Wipers and a couple crappie. The bite is slow but quality size like normal. 15 plus boats on the water also which is a lot when everyone hits the same spots. Quick question for anyone who knows the Pittsburg Ks area. My son is a freshman down at Pitt state and I want to take the boat down that way in the spring. I know they have the strip pits down there, bone creek is close and fort Scott is an option. Any other spots we should consider down that way? Thank guys!

I bailed on going down to LaCygne today because of the 30mph gusts. It really calmed down and I'm kicking myself now. I've caught some nice ones over the last couple of months all on sqare bills and spinnerbaits. God Bless warm weather and getting out of the house...

I was at LaCygne on Friday in the river trying to stay out of the wind and nothing. Water was up and pretty muddy. Didn't have high expectations just glad to be out of the house. There were baitfish all the way back to the bridge in the river.

Hit up LaCygne yesterday and caught a 7.5lb largemouth on a square bill crank bait. Didn't get the numbers everyone else was but I was also fishing some spots I normally don't hit up. There was a steady flow of boats hitting up the outlet and I saw 2 boats anchored down to the northeast of the plant. Water temp ranged from 67-70 degrees in most places.

Catchin' The Bigguns In La Cygne
When you say Rock wall do you mean on the west side as your heading to the river off the main lake or back in the cove to the southwest of the island?

Looking for some quick advice. I don't fish often around KC or Olathe specifically but want to get out this afternoon or tomorrow morning. My son is going with me and I just want to catch some bass size not required. Where should i go? Killcreek, Lonestar, Douglas County, Gardner are all places I have not been to. (If it's not too windy) Love seeing the LaCygne thread. That's where I fish 90% of the time I go out.

Thanks for the Info. Not sure if many on this forum are interested, but caught 70 plus white bass at Hillsdale Saturday afternoon. Water was down to 68 degrees and the baitfish were on the move with the high winds..

It's good to see someone catching fish at LaCygne. I'm new to this forum and this is the first summer I have kept my boat near LaCygne. I'd like some other lakes to fish around the area if anyone has any recomendations. So far i've hit up Miami County, Middle Creek, and Pleasanton.
