Is there a lot of difference in castability in going from 8 to 10 pound? I know that is not much of an increase but I do a lot of shore fishing and one particular place I fish I throw crankbaits where there are logs left there when the dam was constructed and I lose a lot of lures on them. I thought a heavier line might help free them but it is a pretty good cast to get the lure there and I catch nice bass off those logs. ??? I use only 8lb test.

I have caught nice smallies on Rooster Tails. I agree white and black are very good. I have caught them on yellow to. Northerns will hit the yellow also.

I use the tiny torpedo along the riprap and it is deadly. I use the frog and baby bass. Another one I use a lot is the Footloose by Bandit in orange craw color. It is great in the shallows.
