  1. I just got mine in today hope to try it out Sunday if the weather hold out.
  2. I ordered the Lawrence elite 4 HDI for my kayak but not sure what battery I should get. Anyone know what a good inexpensive battery would work for that?
  3. I ordered one from basspro so once they get the shipment in they will send it out. What would be the best kind of battery to use on it in a kayak? Looking for small and affordable, any suggestions?
  4. I went to bass pro today to get the elite 4 HDI but it was out of stock. From what I see online there on back order every where I look.
  5. I've been leaning towards the Lowrance elite 4 HDI fish finder/chartplotter. Anyone have this one?
  6. I've been looking at the Lowrance elit4 series. Just trying to decide which one.
  7. So yours came with a transducer that works through the hull of the kayak? That what I'm trying to figure out, is there certain fish finders that have the transducer that works through the hull, do all of them work through the hull?
  8. I thought about doing something like but not sure if I want something else hanging on the outside of my kayak. I like the through hull method other then the temp not reading right.
  9. I have the ascend FS12T. Not really sure what type fish finder to go with. Not fishing anything big just local small ponds. Want it for finding depth and fish.
  10. I got a kayak for Christmas and would like to get a cheap fish finder. I've watched you tube videos on how to install them but they all show the same looking transducer. The fish finder I saw online had a different looking transducer. Is there a certian kind you need for a kayak if you want to mount it in the hull of the kayak?
  11. Your not holding your mouth right.
  12. C'mon let me catch one.....I can't get skunked. Oooop got a tree/weed bass
  13. Also in savannah. Fished most public ponds with very little luck.
  14. I've noticed its getting easier to throw it farther but not to the distance of my spinning reels. I've checked out the videos on how too's. I do like the feel of them and plan on mastering it just didn't know the distance ability. Thanks for everyone's input.
  15. I recently picked a bait caster set up ( bill dance edition) from bass pro. I had one back when I was a wee lad but could never get the hang of it so had a fear of them until recently. Wanted to give it another shot. I've been practicing with it in the yard and took it out fishing twice. The question is can you cast them as far as a spinning real with enough practice?
  16. I've tried spinners crank baits worms frogs jig n pigs buzz bait banjo minnow. I've tried everything I've seen or read about. I go back up north and I can catch bass almost anytime I go out. Down here its a completely different animal.
  17. I live in the savannah area and have been fishing in public ponds with zero luck. Anyone in the area have any tips? I'm not sure if these ponds are just over fished and the bass are that picky or if I just don't have the southern technique. There one place I can catch bass and that's at the KAO campground and they charge you $12 to fish there. Another pond I've been to you could see the bass along the shore every where but they wouldn't bite anything. Any help is appreciated.
  18. I say there's different classes of sports. Athletic sports such as football hockey baseball etc. then outdoor sports such as hunting and fishing. Then there's competitive sports such as nascar golf chess.
  19. I miss ice fishing. I ultimately like summer bass fishing but when the lakes freeze over you pull out the old tip ups and auger. When I was younger we would get a football game going on the lake and when a flag went up it was an all out brawl to get to it. First one to it gets it rule, kept it fun. You do get some that put up a good fight and you feel the line cutting or burning your hand. I also was an unfortunate one too have there truck break through the ice and sink in 25' of water. Haven't been on the ice in a vehical since.
  20. I got the FS12T for me and me step son for Christmas and I love it, its a little heavy when your dealing with two of them. Had it out a few times already and it gets up and moves pretty easily.
  21. It depends on the lake and the time of year. The one lake back home was a patch of Lilly pads and and rubber frog. Another private pond was any tree laying in the water with a rubber worm that had 3 hooks running down it, the only place I found that that bait worked. Down here where I live now I'm still on the hunt.
  22. Ive been around the Savannah GA area for about13 yrs trying to fish the limited fishing ponds I can find. I tried all kinds of different baits but haven't had much luck. Now winters here and I can't even buy a bite. Anyone know what the magic bait is? I've tried jigs spinners crank baits lizards Catalina rigs grubs shaky head worms even the banjo minnow. I grew up fishing is Wisconsin fishing lakes in the summer so this southern pond fishing is completely different.
