Where To Go Smallmouth Fishing In Western Washington
Any suggestions as to where to fish near Monroe? I would like to try river/creek fishing for bass in general because I have never been able to find any creek or river with bass in it other than the Columbia, but I have a boat and will readily fish a lake.

What Is Your Favorite Species Outside Of Bass And Why?
I have only caught four diferent speices of fish (largemouth, trout, crappie, chinooks), and other than bass my favorite would have to be rainbows. I caught a 6.5 pounder out of a small lake on a fly rod, thats gotta be the most fun I've ever had with a fish.

Powerdrive Pedal Went Bad, Which One To Get?
I have a Minn Kota powerdrive autopilot and the foot pedal stopped working so I need to get a new one, but I don't know what to get because I have heard things about the v2 pedals being bad, and I don't like the one I had.

Trolling Motor Help, Motor Will Not Run
Well with the manual that you sent me I was able to test the foot pedal, and it was fine. So I ordered the control board from Northland Marine for $75, and the motor works great now.

Trolling Motor Help, Motor Will Not Run
Oh, I'm sorry, your link worked, I didn't. Anyway, I did the check on the foot pedal with a volt meter and there was nothing wrong with it, so I will get a new main control board and that will fix the problem I hope. Thanks for the help guys! I Really appreciate it!

Trolling Motor Help, Motor Will Not Run
Um, thanks, but your link sent me to a book store. Also I do not have access to foot pedal, unless I buy one.

If You Could Have One Lure?
Well the tournament was fun, even though I did not catch any fish. Only three people out of ten weighed in, and everybody was telling us we picked a hard first tournament. It was a hard day fishing, but I had fun.

Trolling Motor Help, Motor Will Not Run
I have a used Minn Kota powerdrive 55 autopilot, and I can't figure out if the main control board or the foot pedal is bad. The steering is fine, it will turn left and right no problem, but the motor will only spin continuously if I put the slider on the foot pedal at 8, it will also work on ten or in between, but it just spins and then stops. I found the manual for this motor, and I did the test it said to do: hook a 12v light bulb to the control board output, and hook the control board to a battery, and the same thing happened, the light came on very faintly only if I put the slider on 8, and nowhere else. I am pretty sure it is the control board but I want to make real sure before I start buying things. Any help is much appreciated, thanks.

Contest Banners?
That's what I needed to know. Thanks.

Contest Banners?
I am going to my first tournament held by a local bass club, and they require "contest banners", but I can not figure out what it is, or what I need. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

If You Could Have One Lure?
I have only one rod, it is a six foot spinning rod and I like to run 20lb braid on it. Usually I go out in the afternoon and fish the edges of docks and weeds with an x-rap jerkbait, and if that does not work I will switch to a wacky rig. That's about all I use. I had two spinnerbaits but one broke and I lost the other, I am thinking of getting the terminator t1 spinnerbait though.

If You Could Have One Lure?
Here is where I found my info on deep bass. http://www.bassmaster.com/tips/wirth-deep-water-hot-spots http://www.umpquavalleybassmasters.com/bassbook.htm I will definintly use a wacky rig/senko, it is something I use often and am comfortable with. I think I will get a swim bait just for the heck of it, and some worms and a jig as suggested. Thanks again for all the help, and I will give you the tournament results as soon as posible. Thanks agian!

If You Could Have One Lure?
Thanks for the input! What about fishing deeper, I believe it is a prooven fact that 90 some percent of bass hang out in the deeper areas rather than the shalows. So obveously the jig works here, but what jig and how do I use it? This is my first tournament and I have only fished one lake all my life, so I don't know what to do.

If You Could Have One Lure?
If you could have just one lure/bait to use in a tournament what would it be? I have a tournament coming up and I don't have much tackle and can't buy much tackle. It is just a small tournament, held by a local club for people like me with little boats and electric motors. It is on Flowing lake, Washington, on August 10th. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

What Is The Best Braid?
I think that instead of replacing the tip I will get a new rod because this one is just a $20 cheepy from the grocery store. I have the Cabala's pro guide pg2000 spinning reel, it's a good reel, I like it.

What Is The Best Braid?
Wow, thanks for all the replies. I use spinning gear, 20lb sonic, the tip guide on my rod had tons of grooves in the plastic. I am pretty sure my knots are not the problem. I do fish around docks, wood, and lily pads all the time, so what do you recommend for a leader? So here is what I did and did not like about the braids I used: Power pro: It did not cast very well, I could not cast any weightless bait, but that was about it. Stren sonic: I like it because It casts very smoothly, and it is easy to use, not sure why it's fraying, probably the guides.

What Is The Best Braid?
So, I really like braid, I hate mono, but I can't find a braid that I can trust and rely on, and I am tired of buying expensive line that does not last, (and loosing lures). So far I have tried spider wire: it frayed and broke, power pro: tangled so often that in two or three months I could only cast fifteen feet, stren sonic braid: frays and breaks. So, any suggestions? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

Can Catching This Fish Too Many Times Kill It?
True, but, when I was using the texas rigged worm, I would rip it off the bed real fast and he would chase it three or four feet and eat it, and then swim back to the nest. To me this does not really seem like guarding the nest. There are some other fish on the lake that I know are guarding a nest and they will not chase anything and act much diferently towards my baits.

Can Catching This Fish Too Many Times Kill It?
I don't think this fish is guarding a nest. It seems to me that this is male with a bed ready, and he's just waiting for a female. I read that a guarding bass will not eat, this bass looks like he is just playing with my bait and eating it if I work it right. Anyway, I will not catch him again and will tell every one I know not to fish for him.

Can Catching This Fish Too Many Times Kill It?
Alright, Thanks. I first caught it on a craw jig then a T-rigged worm. I let it take that a few times and did not set the hook, it's fun just to watch them take it.

Can Catching This Fish Too Many Times Kill It?
There is a 3lb male large mouth on a bed by my dock and I caught it once yesterday and twice today. I read somewhere that not releasing a bass soon enough or making it fight to long or something like that caused some sort of chemical build up that could kill the fish. I just wanted to know how much it takes? Because I don't want to kill the fish.
