I was at James A Reed Memorial Wildife conservation area today trout fishing but arrived late at like 6:45. Guys before me each caught 4 rainbows using orange powerbait. I was getting action left and right but no hooks. I was only there for about an hour and half though.

I use a 6 foot ugly stick and a president 6900 series by Pflueger. I can link both if needed. I've thrown just about everything I can think of really. And just about every bait also. Minnows, worms, plastics, cranks, spinners, crawdads and many more. But I havent done many rigs yet I guess that might be a good place to start. I'm still learning about rigs and tying myself.

Background I grew up in Arkansas on the white river and bull shoals lake mostly and always did good bank fishing. Since I've moved here to kc I just can't seem to catch a lick No matter the lake I mostly favor smithville as Jacomo is to busy and Longview is just way to busy. Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated.
