  1. Me and my dad enjoy eating SMB. We catch with intention of eating on occasion. We fillet them and we leave the skin on. We throw the skin side on the grill and season the flesh side with lemon and pepper. It actually tastes pretty good.
  2. All right thanks for the comment!
  3. Thank you sounds logical and like it will work. Will try and thank you!
  4. So I have been fishing the local river by me for a little while now, and have started taking advantage of the many logs in this river. So far, my gig has been to drift pass the logs and cast right underneath of them with a drop shot. Don't get me wrong, it works quite well, I was just wondering if there is a more effective way to fish these logs. Thank you and any help is appreciated!
  5. Oh boy that's an easy one. 4.5 inch straight tail roboworm in the bold bluegill color. Wacky rigged.
  6. Thanks guys I"m listening! \
  7. Alright guys thanks!! I know how to dropshot well so I will try that!!
  8. Hey guys so I have this pond by my house were I try to catch bass. So far I have seen 5 or six bass in it, but I don't no if they are the same ones or not. I have hooked one bass on a booyah pad crasher but havent caught fish since. I have been tryin frogs, texas rigs, carolina rigs and even a spinnerbait, with no results. And there is a healthy population of bluegill in it. And frogs. So is it worth it to keep trying? Is there a stable population of bass in it? By the way I am new to largemouth but I have fished smallies all my life so any advice is appreciated!!!
  9. Hey thanks guys I am listening!
  10. I fish the Columbia alot. Hit the willamete today and my pops landed a 3.5 pounder. Good little river! I still can't understand how people swim in that crap.
  11. Thanks thats sounds good!
  12. Hey guys here is the question. I have a 18 foot crestliner multi-species boat, with no trolling motor. I am wanting to buy a trolling motor, I just don't know what lb thrust is needed for a boat like mine. Thanks any advice is helpful!
  13. Thanks for your advice! My biggest smallie out of that river was a 5 pounder. Funny thing was me and my family had beached our boat to have a picnic. I cast out a drop shot, and wham! I brought in that brute. He was so long, and that was what amazed me!
  14. Hey guys I was just wondering if it was worth it to switch over to braid. I currently use 2 spinning setups for smallies, and I have 6 and 8 pound test mono on them. I have heard braid works well, I just didn't know if it was versatile enough for my uses. I run dropshot rigs, splitshot rigs, tube jigs, and grubs primarily. I also throw some spinners and crankbaits to. If I do run braid I will use a leader, of either flourocarbon or mono. Thanks for your guys advice!
  15. Thanks I will probably do this!
