  1. I actually put my spinnerbait back on and moved and still no luck
  2. So today was my very first time bass fishing in the very early morning. I caught 3 within the first few minutes on a spinner and thought that was how it was gonna be for the rest of the morning. Well after the sun came just above the trees at around 5:40, I didn't get another bite. It was like they just disappeared. I tried throwing around a frog and some different texas rigged worms and still nothing (I did however get a perch and a catfish). Should I have come earlier or are they supposed to continue feeding after the sun comes up?
  3. It's a 50 acre pond
  4. The main part of my pond is a giant drop off that goes down to 60 ft deep in the center. Assuming there is some form of cover at each depth, how can i know how deep the bass will be on any given summer day?

  7. Is mid day summer bank fishing still difficult on very overcast, stormy days? It's still hot but it's been storming like crazy for the past few days. Edit: I honestly did not see that someone used this exact thread title...
  8. Just give it a strong pull. It would be really hard to rip it out of its mouth unless you had the intent to do so
  9. Offset hooks should work just fine but if I were buying hooks specifically for w-rigging I would buy octopus style hooks
  10. I like diving in
  11. He wasn't shaking when we pulled him but the line had some abrasions
  12. There was a patch of land I should have jumped to to get the bass from the water. I do that now lol
  13. The other day i tried to pull a fish up by the line and it snapped (I know, really dumb, I just saw the fish and wanted to get it). I estimated it to be around 6-7 lbs but my buddy tried to pull it up and asked for my help because he was having trouble lifting it up. Also the line that snapped was 12 lb test. Can someone explain to me some possible reasons for the line snapping if it wasn't this heavy because i don't think it looked 10 lbs.
  14. Doesn't matter, seems like it's all luck.

  17. So right now the temperature is hovering at 90 degrees. The temperature's gonna drop by a good amount by tonight (10 degrees), the humidity will increase, and there will be showers in the morning. I've had good luck fishing before storms but I'm not sure if it's just a coincidence. I don't really wanna go out tonight unless it's a good day because I have to get up early tomorrow but it's been hot, clear bluebird days for almost a week **forgot to mention I'll only have bank access today
  18. When i eat them i coat them with flour and pan fry them
  19. I wouldn't use a jig. Definitely bring some finesse gear though
  20. I personally hate fishing faster baits because I lose confidence making cast after cast.
  21. 3/0 offset, not sure which company
  22. Granted I'm fairly new to bass fishing but this is still no excuse. So yesterday I was fishing at a huge local pond and I hook an obviously huge fish. It started taking off drag, so my immediate reaction was "Oh no, lines coming off! BETTER TIGHTEN THE DRAG!" My line didn't snap then and I managed to reel it in. It was the biggest bass I've ever seen in person, my new pb. The spot i was fishing at had about a meter long cliff to the water, so I start to pull the fish directly upwards and the line snaps. Now there's a huge bass swimming around with a hook in it's mouth and it probably won't survive.
