Hey everyone! Haven't posted in awhile and finally went out for my 3rd day this year, yesterday 5/9/2016. Just started trying something new which is kayak fishing so I can access more waters rather than bank fishing. Had some success bringing in 3 myself a 1 for my brother. Not what I was hoping for but a day spent fishing is a lot better than a day not! Also the water was awfully choppy and the wind was moving. Hopefully we can bring in some slobs this season. Any advice on kayak fishing is appreciated or any tips in general. Going back to the great resources offered on the site to refresh my brain a bit.

I had the same problem. Light rain and a few pops out of the water. I started throwing my frog and some I had some light bites but couldn't get one in today.

Hey guys, today was my first day out. I went out for a couple hours bank fishing in a more private spot on lake Belton in Texas. I pulled in four, none of them were huge but it was fun and a good start to the season for me!

Hey all, I got a new job and travel a lot now. When I am not traveling I am staying with my brother in Belton, Texas. I was just wondering if anyone knows of the lakes or any good fishing areas around there. I have only been out that way once but I never went fishing, hoping in a couple days to be done on the job where I am and scope out the area.

I went out last Thursday, and got a decent amount of 2-3 pounders on lake Ontario

Thanks for all the advice guys!!

Does anyone here do anything special with their tackle for upkeep? If you have a lure and the paint is rubbing off or rust is starting to form on the hooks and such, do you toss it out and get a new one? Or do you perform maintenance on them? Also when you get new tackle do you do anything to keep things like this and other things from happening? I am unsure if this has been asked before and if it has I apologize in advance I am just curious.

And hopefully soon The weather is fluxuating so much its crazy, here in Oswego it could be 60 one day and 30 the next hopefully it stays on the streak its in (50's and suppose to be 60's by the end of the week) and just rises steadily but you never know with mother nature. Haha.

Hey everyone, I am new here from CNY. I have been fishing since I was young with my father, even doing ice fishing. I was in my first local bass tournament last year that a friend with the help of the local bait shop put on and I loved it. I usually fish Lake Ontario, Oswego River, Fair Haven Bay, Fair Haven State Park: Park pond, and many other spots. I hope to learn a lot and meet many new people!
