  3. X2, spinnerbaits get too difficult to cast in heavy wind.
  4. 1/2oz Siebert Arky jig w/ paca chunck sr.
  5. caught this piggy today on the siebert arky jig wearing a paca chunk.
  6. im about to break out the punching gear..for the ice that is. im going crazy to fish
  7. Just saw this thread and it reminded me, There was an order waiting for me in the mailbox! so i rushed up to get it and once again it all looks top notch. the sway jigs look solid and im digging the compact spinner. Just waiting on soft water...
  8. it doesnt wobble to its side at a good pace?
  9. Do you think it will enhance the action of the swimbait or destroy it?
  10. I fish in muncie. I have been catching them in deeper(3ft+) fast moving water. drifting a 4" senko under a float has been a good producer as well.
  11. Are you fishing the white river? I'm in central IN as well and I've been having goodluck on squarebills and rage-rigged menace grubs and structure bugs.
  12. No love for the devil spear?
  13. Thank you, this is exactly the sort of info I was "fishing" for.
  14. Im aware there are no standards thats why i want to know what people who own one of these rods think about there power rating( wimpy or stiff) and to answer your question ill just have to tell you what you told me, there are no standards, i have two MHF rods that are very much different, i have M rods stiffer than one and the other is a pool cue so what MHF means to me changes everytime i get a new one. I would like it to be well enough suited to handle the applications i have stated above. Do you have any insight on the rods above or any other moderatly priced rods($100-150)? Thank you.
  15. Im going on a small trip next month and am in the market for a new MH setup to use as a sort of workhorse(spinnerbaits, t-rigs, c-rigs, smaller jigs). First off my two contenders right now are duckett and abu (because TW doesnt have the 7' *** blacks till the end of the year), i would like to know from any owners what you think of the MH power rating on the Ghost, Micro magic, and Veritas 2. Next, if i get a ghost or a veritas ill be pairing it with a Lew's tourny MG but if i get a micro magic ill be pairing it with a Lews LFS so should i splurge on the rod or reel? Lastly if anyone has any other good combo suggestions within the price point (roughly) of those mentioned above Im all ears, but i would like to know why you suggest what you suggest. My apologies for the drawn out and run on inquiry and appriceate all replies.
  16. yeah that pretty much sums it up
  17. Lew's SS1 or LFS speed spool? I will be using it to throw small jigs and texas rigs mostly. Also I will be pairing it with a duckett ghost(maybe).
  18. Yes, that day really taught me alot! I have been fishing this river for about a yeah and as stated above the biggest i had caught before was under 2lbs. I went fishing more to just cast(its soothing to me) and to get out of dinner with in-laws lol. I had walked at least two miles of river bank fishing any slack water i could find, and hadn't caught anything. I found a spot that a big tree laying out into fast current creating a pool of slack water behind it and since the river was high the pool was full of flooded grass. I caught all six fish out of that small area with the biggest ones being the furthest out in the current. I think high, fast, muddy water is my new favorite to fish because i feel like it will make the fish easier to pinpoint. Do i have the right idea?
  19. Its been raining heavily hear for the past three days and the local river is fast flowing and chocolate milk in color, but i was getting stir crazy not having been out this week so i decided to go give it a try anyways. It turned out to be the best day of fishing ive had this year. I caught six smallies the smallest being 1 1/2lbs and the biggest 3 1/2lbs. Not the biggest fish but im new to the area and to smallmouth fishing in general so I caught a new PB smallie four times today(previous was a tad under 2lbs). I fished a dbl colorado blade spinner bait, threw it into heavy current and brought it into slack water, they all seemed to hammer it right on the edge of the current and slack water. So my question is do any of you fellas find the "worst conditions" favorable?
  20. look into the siebert outdoors fogy, they are a quality product and cheaper than Z-man by $2 or more.
