  1. got my siebert order today, they look awsome! got 5 jigs in my random pack(3 dredge, 1 big O football, and 1 finesse). took them fishing and caught a nice lil river smallie about 2lbs(fought like a PIG!) and had a couple short strikes on one of the fogys. All in all im very pleased with my first order, and see many more in the future. P.S. thats the first fish ive caught on a jig other than bladed and swim jigs.
  2. Have a lot of carp in one of the lakes I fish and what you described sounds like carp. a high population of carp seem to make the bass fishing suffer, at least in my experience on this lake.
  3. read this thread lastnight and just made my first siebert outdoors order! got a random pack and a couple fogys, can't wait to get them.
  4. I have a shimano sedona 1000 sereis spoooled with 6lb fluro on a BPS MF action IM7 rod, and i reel down on the fish and pull into them keeping constant pressure. when i was using the VMC hooks i got from MTB i didn't have a problem with the bait balling up. i think its the bend in the cheap hooks thats the problem
  5. Thank you for the replies. I had been using the eagle claw hooks that come in the ds kits from wally world but I could never get a good hookset with them. most of the time the fish came unbuttoned half way in and the bait was all twisted and caught on the point.
  6. What size hook do you guys typically use for your dropshot rigs: #1, #2, 1/0 or 2/0? I just picked up a pack of 1/0 gamagatzu dropshot/splitshot hooks, ive never used them before are they good hooks and will this size be sufficient?
  7. in what circumstances do you use that?
  8. Do you guys do any interesting modififactions to any of your soft plastic lures or do you just fish them all straight out of the bag? I always split the paddles on brush hogs and pinch the arms loose from the body to give it more action.
  9. the banjo minnow is not designed to swim straight it is a bait to jerk and create an erratic action. and they work, this was the only bait I used two summers ago and absolutely slayed them. but as said before to each his own. I'll take the minnow all day.
  10. whats it called?
  11. caught mine(10lbs) on a small 1/4oz black buzzbait ironicly. Most of my other big ones i've caught on hollow body frogs.
  12. when wacky rigging senkos on a drop shot what is your preffered size? the 5" seems a little big/heavy to me so im just wondering what you guys think?
  13. anyone have any experience fishing Summit lake?
  14. what lake were you fishing?
  15. cool thanks for the reply, I will have to give it a try.
  16. I have just recently moved here to Muncie IN, and the only place i know of to fish is the prarie creek res. I will go out and fish for 4-5 hours at a time but never catch more than one fish and its never over 2lbs. I asked some of the people i meet out there about it and no one seems to have good things to say, plus the place looks like a dump. Yesterday i actually caught a diper! I have even started taking an empty trash bag with me and cleaning up the garbage but it is just a mess again the next time i return. Does anyone know of any other bodies of water in the area (perhaps a private pond someone is willing to permit me to fish)?
  17. Try nose hooking one with a small drop shot hook (no weight) and fish it on the surface/subsurface using a twitch and pause retrieve. crazy action
  18. A friend and I got a pack of the 007 banjo minnows( halfway as a joke) and they do actually work, i haven't used them in a few years but I have caught a lot of fish on them including a 6.5 lbr' on the vey first time I used one lol Point is everyone is trying to sell you something and you just have to weed through the bad ones to find the ones that work. From the TV or from the shelf
  19. Thanks for the replies, will be looking into all of them
  20. I am looking to get into kayak fishing but seeing as how I'm 250+ I am looking for one that can hold me and my gear and remain stable enough to stand in. Any suggestions?
  21. Muncie. I fish the white river and sandy creek res
  22. I had the same problem with the scatter rap turning on its side and not swimming right. after i looked at it i noticed the line tie that holds split ring wasn't straight, i bent it straight and no more problem
  23. Hello all, I'm a self taught(teaching because you never know it all) bank walking bass fisherman. i just moved here to IN and would love to hear some local knowledge from some of you guys and any knowledge that any of you gentlemen would be willing to share with me.
