  1. Just an FYI here to up date the Lake mead, Echo Bay area. As of 5/5/2014, Echo Bay is open, and has 2 launch ramps available for use right now. (702-394-4000) That said, one is pretty shallow, and might close at any time. The RV park is open, and they charge $28-$30 a night. There is a small store open that has the basics. There is a gas station open where gas is $3.944 a gallon. (89 octane) There still is no "on the water" fuel docks, as the marina is still closed down. The motel, and restaurant is still closed down. The feds have two campgrounds open with plenty of camping room at $10 a night. I was able to park my 34' TT with room to spare. In fact the campground host in the lower unit is a pretty successful bank fisherman for catfish, and stripers from what I saw at the fish cleaning station. He also showed me some picts of some pretty nice largemouths he caught in late February, early March. Those he said, he released. There are no boat rentals available at this time. Also, Overton Beach is still closed down and I don't see them opening it anytime soon since there is not much, if any water there. From what I have seen the water level is dropping pretty fast. I was there in late February, and when I came back in April, it appeared the lake had dropped 10-15 feet. The place is clean, and quiet...............B.E.
