Hello all, i have a few questions regarding set-ups for spinning gear. Of note, I do not use any bait casting gear at the moment. I will attempt to learn it one day, but as of now i strictly use spinning gear for all my applications. I read a lot of conflicting info regarding length, power action of certain rods for certain applications. Was wondering if anybody could give some recommendations for specific set ups: Frog set-up Swimbait set-up Spinnerbait set-up Crankbait set-up Swimming Jig setup My current gear: 1.) Fenwick Aetos 7" MH - fast action 2.) Fenwick Aetos 7'4 MH - XF action ( 3.) Fenwick HMX 6'6 M - Fast (using as current swimbait rod/Texas rig worm rod) I also have a couple quantum smoke reels and some shimano stradic CI14 reels as well. What is the rationale for not wanting Floro on spinning rig? Im not trying to be defensive, i just want to know what the rationale is. I personally fish all spinning gear, and i have a 6'6 Fenwick HMX with a Quantum Smoke spinng reel rigged with 10lb Invisx for swim bait (money minnow) and it works fine. I haven't had any issues with line twists. Is it something that comes later after some use? I just spooled it a few weeks ago.

thanks for the recommendation...quick question. How is a "smallmouth rod" different than any other rod? Also, what bait do you recommend i throw on this setup?

would love to send them the reel to fix up, how do i get there info? Also, speaking of reels, how do you maintain your reels? I know your supposed to lube them but i honestly have never taken a reel apart, and I'm a little hesitant too just because i have never done it before. The reels i have now are all pretty new except for the older Stradic, but how often should do maintenance on my reels and what do you do to them?

I was thinking of doing that actually. The stradic reel i have is pretty old, and its not as smooth as it once was. I was thinking about buying either a new Quantum smoke for it or a new Stradic. Should I make the 7'4 my frog rod or swim bait rod?

Hello fellow bass fisherman, this is my first post. I have read the articles and watched the vids. Looking for a little feedback from the bass community. Just a little background, i fish exclusively spinning gear. I know many of you will advise me to get a bait caster and eventually i am going to, but that is for another time. Right now Im looking for some feedback on my spinning set-ups. This is what I am currently going with: Fenwick Aetos 7’ MH fast - Shimano Symmetre 3000 reel - 10 lb Senshi mono (for frogs) Fenwick HMG 6'6 M fast - Quantum Smoke reel - 10 lb Senshi mono (for texas rig plastic worms) Fenwick HMX 6'6 M fast - Quantum Smoke reel - 10 lb Invisx Floro (for swim bait; money minnow) (older) Fenwick 6'6 M fast - older Shimano Stradic 4000 - 10 lb Floroclear (spinnerbait/buzzbait) Also have Fenwick Aetos 7'4 MH XF - (don't have reel for it yet; thinking of the new Stradic or another Symmetre) - (may make this my frog or swim bait rod) So that is my equipment...would really love some feedback. If something is not paired up right please let me know any suggestions. i have don't A LOT of research in trying to pair the right rod for the right application, this is what i came up with.
